He got their title shots but like @Bend NvR Break posted, he blew one, khabib blew another and covid ruined the third plus the interim title shots.

Tony wasn't overrated but he had glaring weaknesses that his opponents didn't fully exploited; Pettis and Cowboy wasn't in their prime specially Cowboy and the rest of those guys tried to KO tony but his grit and chin made him survive. Once he got guys who followed a strict game plan he lost and badly. Just watch the Johnson fight.
