Mcgregor is hyped as the best MMA fighter in the world and one of the biggest stars in any sport.
Most ppl are casuals, unlike us (MMA nerds :)) and believe in this.

Why would he come back and take a beating vs Khabib/Tony? and lose his statues

The way he struggle against Nate... I don't see how he can even compete vs Khabib nor Tony.

He better sitout for 1-2 years more and see if a better fight comes up,

He sure isnt afraid to take a beating, he proved that vs Floyd, But he's smart and protecting his brand

people are already forgetting he has that UFC belt. in 1-2 years he will a retired MMA fighter without belts and a failed boxer. if he doesnt keep fighting and winning, his stock will drop like Ronda's.

He'll be known as The Man that Ran Away.

The coward did retire after his Nate Diaz beating, people forget that. Then he "un-retired himself" probably after a pep talk from his coach.

He was always a scared little man

I see your point, but if you don't fight you will fade, this happens in every sport after a great athlete retires. While the core audience knows what possibly awaits Conor on return, the casual audience probably does see him as the best in the sport but it won't be like that for long.

Yes those 2 fighters are very similar to Nate

would be funny If he beats them easier than Nate, then people will have to actually acknowledge that Nate is way more legit than anyone gave him credit for.

To the fanboy. Unpark those Irish nuts from your mouth.

I don't think anybody thinks he's the best nor is he hyped as the best.

Yea.

And they both have millions of dollars in the bank.
And you and Mighty Mouse do not.

Expecting a title holder to defend the title isn't hating.

That's just what title holders are OBLIGATED to do.

Well, Ronda's stock dropped after she got exposed, so TS is kinda right. Even though Floyd carried him, his stock rose because he made it 10 rounds. I know Floyd could've finished him earlier, but the perception to some is that he had a chance against one of the greatest boxers ever. If he comes back now and gets smashed then his stock would plummet just like Ronda's did. He can blame the first Nate fight on gassing and people will buy that because he brutalized Nate's face. If he comes back and gets brutalized he's done. Can't talk shit after getting your ass kicked.

This. But we live in a new reality now, it's all about super fights.

Titles don't mean anything anymore, especially if the champ never defends and his fans are fine with that.

Conor fans lately are like grandmas worried about breaking the delicate china.

It's a new low for fans of just about...anything or anyone.
