News TJ Dillashaw Notifies the UFC of his Retirement

What a joke. Dude is literally falling apart without his vitamins. Im amazed how many of you are actually saluting his retirement and ignoring the fact that he cheated his whole career. There is no way in hell he is really retiring. He will just leave the USADA pool for a year and a half and do the "McGregor therapy" in order to "fully recover".
Steroids doesn’t prevent ligament tears. If that was the case, Ronnie Coleman wouldn’t be crippled.

Still don’t understand why TJ got all the hate that he did for leaving Team Alpha. The guy switched teams and found success which proved he made the right call. This is something that has been numerous amount of times by many fighters, so why does only TJ get criticized for it.
He got shit for it because he lied about it. Instead of telling Urijah he's switching camps he told Urijah he's staying then suddenly he just leaves & starts talking shit about his former team.

Long story short, snake in the grass.

Maybe he's taking the Conor method to injury rehab.
You

IT!
I would be more surprised if he actually retired. He'll be back. Will be a while though. Surgery, peds, rehab, and then 6 months of testing. At least 14-16 months.
Well, he'd be a little old by then?

TJ gets lots of hate and no doubt he deserves it for being a cheater. But he also helped the sport evolve and put in lots of work. I think mma was better with him involved even though hes a lying cheater. Have a good retirement TJ.

having a lying cheater be better for the sport, seems legit

<Huh2>

I defended him all the way up to that point but that was just too selfish an act and proved he is really a snake in the grass by nature. Good riddance.
I'm more mad about that than the PEDs.
I bet UFC is going to upgrade those prefight medicals.

More like retirement from the USADA policy to do what Conor did and then hop back in 1-2 years later. I mean I don't blame him. Conor's recovery was pretty miraculous.

TJ was straight up killer competitor, hugely influential to the evolution of MMA movement.
Pushed his body hard and unfortunately paying the price, at his level you need to be in top shape.
Would not have been an easy decision.
Wish him all the best for the next chapter.

Dude's body just completely fell apart on him. You can temporarily push past your limits with the right assistance, but Mother Nature and Father Time will always win out in the end.

1.) He comes to fight
2.) Is never boring
3.) Has a cool name
4.) Looks cool
5.) Did I say he comes to fight?
6.) Is from Moldova.

All good points however he is 1-5-1 and has been finished in his last three

Wasn’t he splitting his time between the two camps. and wasn’t the problem more with Urijah not liking Ludwig and being mad that TJ continued to train with him?

I feel like you are leaving or forgetting a lot of important details here.

Yea, thats what he was doing. But when he was confronted with the question of leaving he told Urijah to his face that he wasn't leaving the team, then he left. Tj could've just been honest but instead he kept that lie even during Tuf.
