News Titanic Tours Submersible missing in atlantic ocean

Careful what answers you wish for.

Are the families of Paul Bernardo's victims glad that all the answers they could ever want about their daughters' final hours and days were on videotape? For closure...

I guess we'll see if it comes to that. Rest in peace. This CEO has not secured a very laudable place for himself in history.

I wonder that about the families of murder victims that had to watch video tapes in court (or even just hear testimony) was it worse than they imagined? Or did it give closure ?

It's hard to say. Those mass tragedies are awful but these people may have all been trapped together for days in terror knowing that death was coming and with the person responsible for their deaths. Perhaps everyone handled it with poise and dignity. Perhaps they created their own horrors that will only be unearthed when that capsule is opened. If they were alive for these extra days it was hell on earth. Maybe they would prefer to have whatever happened remain at the bottom of the sea. And their loved ones as well.
No doubt if it happened to be recorded by an on-board camera, it would probably be one of the most harrowing things caught on video. I shudder to think...

Gone is gone. Other than for the purpose of making sure Bernardo went away for life I have no doubt the victims would have preferred that nobody ever see those tapes and I can't imagine how anybody who cared about those girls would be grateful for the information.

Have you seen Grizzly Man? The audiotape of Timothy Treadwell being eaten alive by a bear exists...or at least it did at the time the film was made. The director Werner Herzog listened to it and told Treadwell's friend, the woman who ultimately ended up with possession of that tape, to never listen to it and destroy it. It was probably good advice.

It is really disturbing to know that they could still be alive three days later knowing they are going to die. It is gut-wrenching.

There are a variety of thrillseeker activities that can result in horrific death and I always wonder how the people who do them evaluate the risk/reward. Almost all of the people that developed wingsuits, for example, are now dead. I wonder if they simply can't foresee their possible demise until its happening.

I don’t think if I was in either situation, I’d want to know, but I guess we can’t be sure?

Obviously it's slightly different to these "adrenaline junkie" types, but without these risk-taking, adventurous individuals we'd likely still be living in caves.

Im pretty sure you can listen to that audio tape on the Youtube or at least part of it. Its pretty gruesome.

The most published version of it on most internet platforms is fake. And Herzog loves to make extra drama out if everything. I knew he would react like that to the tape. His documentary is full of overemotional fake psychoanalysis of Treadwell. He loves to hear his own voice telling dramatic stuff.

To me Herzog is a phony.
