News Titanic Tours Submersible missing in atlantic ocean

And you don't think the desire to hire someone for something other than their qualifications to do the job lead to this?
He fired a guy who told him it wasn't safe. He refused to submit to industry standard inspection and certification.
The 50 year old White guys (experts) were either avoided or ignored so he could have an "inspirational" company - one that ignores the hard-won wisdom of experts in his chosen field. He only wanted people who were too afraid or too ignorant to tell him no.
I read an article yesterday about that guy.

The view port on this rig was specifically rated for pressures to a depth of 1400 meters.

They were at 4000 meters.

That's about as clear as it gets this thing was an inevitable death trap.

Look at this expedition to the Mariana Trench (that I think this billionaire was also a part of). Notice the staff (and communication with them) at the surface... lol.

I'm curious what the support crew looked like for the Titan, although I think that comment by the CEO is being blown a bit out of proportion in the context of being woke, etc. I think more than anything he was demonstrating a disdain for the conservative and conventional way of doing things. He probably butt heads with 50 year old ex-military more than a few times with regard to practices and design.

Probably catch some flack for this but it's really hard for me to feel sorry for a group of rich people that were stupid enough to pay a quarter mill each to go to their death. As soon as I seen the inside of the tin can I'd have been out of there!

Also, hilarious how multiple countries joined together to search for these rich people. If it was 5 lower class people in that sub then we wouldn't have even heard about it.

Rant over, sorry boyz.

UK billionaire confirmed to be on board. How long can people survive in those things before running out of air?

woke submarine you mean.

Missing Sub Boss Brags About Not Hiring Experienced 'White Guys' with Military Backgrounds

Bloody brilliant. 250k admission for this woke death trap.

They butchered Hollywood movies, edu, corporate, and now this death trap. I can't wait for these hiring practices meet bridge building, elevators, and other future death traps.

Play stupid game and win stupid prizes.

Boycott fuck shit. Your life could be in danger due to incompetence.

I was going to post my experience as a Submariner that it was always "the boat", and the the senior enlisted is the "Chief of the Boat" (COB). But it was never explained why it was that way.

At many points in my training, which included qualifying as a Quality Assurance Inspector (responsible for certifying subsafe systems testing), we were played the recordings of the USS Thresher imploding. It is horrifying and does not sound like banging. Popping.
I don't think the recording is on here, but there is a lot of sobering information. thresher recording - Google Search They were unable to find the debris for 14 months afterward and they had multiple ships on the surface monitoring it continuously and communications right to the end.
Ugh, just the term 'Crush Depth' alone makes me feel a bit sick.

Read about that a few months ago just before bed, poor choice for night time reading

It's worse. They played the woke racism game and got this death contraption. Woke is literally killing with these incompetent hiring practices.

Wait till these practices go towards your elevator, bridges, condos, and infrastructure.

Imagine paying a quarter million to get lost in the Atlantic Ocean. (smh). This... like cocaine... is God's way of telling people they have too much money.

Hope they survive though.

Mate they entered this death trap with woke incompetent hiring practices.

These stupid hiring practices will find there way into infrastructure, construction, elevators, skyscrapers, bridges, etc. Utter fucking stupidity.

I feel bad for the 19 year old kid. He trusted his dad.

What was he looking for when he was hiring? Aircraft engineers? Lol

I think the intrigue of it involving the Titanic and its being a self propagating news story for several days with a countdown would have got it coverage. Same as those kids in that cave in Thailand.

It's tempting to say Darwin Awards here...but there is a 19 year old kid in that thing that just thought it would be cool to see the Titanic and trusted his Dad. I can't say for sure that I wouldn't have gotten on something like this when I was 19. I probably did stuff just as stupid with less potential reward for the risk.

I don't want to shit talk this CEO too much at the moment because it's possible he just died a horrible death or is dying as we speak if they preserved oxygen to some degree. But this story is filled with unlikable characters. An irresponsible seeming egomaniac who got people killed. A guy who posts selfies at concerts while his stepfather is suffocating to death. Surely a number of people in this corporate outfit who could or should have said or done something to prevent this.

But there's also just some people who underestimated the risks and took this guy and this company's word for things. And at least one who couldn't be expected to make the wisest assessments at his age and most likely not to rebel against the situation if his Dad thought it was safe enough.

This shit is a mess. There are surely several people involved who should never work in this field again and at least one who we know never will.

lol of all the chicks that billionaire could have banged he chose the one that came with the autistic pos goofball son in the pack

Had to google who his wife was, Linda Harding. Was curious what she looked like. Shes an older woman, so I'm guessing he married her for the british status and less for looks.

Still no news? Have they switched to recovery instead of rescue?
