That didn't fuck up your knees? But yeah your right I need to hit the rope! That's a great idea.

Here's another way to look at it -- you're kicking ass with your lifting, but squats and deads just don't hit the calves that much.

So if you're committed to strengthening all your muscles, you'll need to do some shit that's more calf-o-centric. Simple as that. Same thing with the neck -- I'm convinced that I'm never gonna develop my neck strength much without neck-specific exercises. And if anybody has a problem with me wanting a strong neck (or calves), they're silly.

So don't worry about the size of your calves, just start doing the stuff everybody's mentioned (hill sprints, car pushes, calf raises, etc.) and they'll get stronger. If they get bigger, great. If not, well, dem's da breaks. Either way, you'll have strong calves.

You shouldn't worry too much about their size but I know that during my track years we had to do lots of hill sprints and my calves got strong/big from doing em so my advice would be to try it.

seriously? I was under the impression that calves were part of the posterior chain...

Yeah, they are. But the primary job of the two muscles involved (gastrocnemius and soleus) is to elevate the heel relative to the toes (or depress the toes relative to the heel).

At least in my experience, they're never gonna get a serious workout from flat-footed deads and squats.

HaHa. Dude, it's genetics, you're basically fucked.

Power cleans, Buzz. They will tear your calves up.
