I have TWC as my ISP and they are absolute shit. I pay for "extreme" internet which is supposed to be 13 mb/s and never get above 3, some times I'm even in kb/s. Can't play games online, can't use Netflix or YouTube.

Anyone else think Time Warner sucks cocks?

A tech has been out twice and hasn't fixed a fucking thing. Also when they initially connected my service, they just left the modem in the middle of the floor with about 2 feet of co ax to work with. When asked if they could route the wire to behind the television, they told me to call an electrician. What cunts.

they're okay by me

Rolled out new lines for the whole neighborhood and I've had crazy speed every since. Only 35$ a month too; it's pretty insane. I think with Google Fiber (or w/e they're calling it now) rolling out test lines around Austin put some fear in them.

EDIT: I hate that you have to rent a damn modem from them; it's ridiculous. That's something that needs to change for all ISPs.

13 MB/s?

That's not good for cable internet. That's like DSL.

You sure it's not hardware related?

What's your modem and router? Maybe someone here can help you.

When I ditched cable TV, I bought a higher end modem and router since I would be streaming everything.

It's been worth it.

Pretty good for me to be honest. Customer service is dogshit, but we just have basic network channels and medium internet. They are my only option in my town anyways, outside of satellite or DSL.

My wife and I watch Netflix separately, at the same time, and there are no problems streaming. TS, sounds like you're getting hosed. Do you live out in the boonies somewhere?

I pay $80 for this, with a 300 data cap (which i have gone over 3 months in a row so i paid $90

I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am contemplating picking up a modem from best buy, some advertise download speeds of 1 gig or more per second. I wouldn't be surprised if they give out shit modems with their service.

I punched the shit out of the modem and now I can watch Netflix. #AllRageEverything

Ouch data caps need to go away forever

I'm going in to "talk" to them when i pay my bill. It doesn't help the competition in town is doing data caps as well.

It's dumb that they data cap people who do the lower speeds the same amount. I feel if i'm paying for better speeds which means HQ/HD videos, i should have a bigger data cap.

It's a fucking scam.

My connection kind of sucks out here, but it's the best anyone offers

My only option is Fairpoint. They are the worst. If the phone rings, I lose my internet. If it rains, internet is often out for a couple of days. Every single spring for the last 5 years, my internet cuts out every 15 minutes or so. Every year I call them and they pretend its a brand new problem and they have no idea what the issue is. I pay my bill and they turn off my internet a few days later. Easily the worst service of any utility I have ever paid for.

Fuck Comcast, is all I have to say.

I just slightly upgraded here with our provider Shaw. It's aight.

You guys have amazing speeds. I'm speed testing with the ps4, not sure how accurate it is.

Are high end modems worth it? I've seen some for 300 bucks that promise as much as 1 gig/s.

I'm not really sure what these guys are complaining about. I'd almost be embarrassed to post my speed test compared to those on this page.

Our local Time Warner location is like a war zone. They have bullet proof glass and two security guards on duty, I shit you not.

Who says you can't buy your own modem. They have a webpage that lists various suggested models and you can pick something not listed and they'll let you use it.

I had the upgraded package with 30 down and 10 up. Recently they upgraded everyone's speed and now I get over 100Mb/s for no extra charge. (for now I'm sure)
Make sure you purchase a newer modem so you can avoid the 7 or 8 dollars they charge a month for modem fee. I am glad I have not had to deal with their customer service
much because I have heard many horror stories.

Here is the sheet they sent out.
