Time to start Weight Training

Hey Guys
I'm 20 years old about 5'11'' and have been sitting around 165 for a couple years now. I'm looking to build some muscle mass and strength so that I can start training with some of my friends, but I have no idea where to start with weight training and my friends are no help. I need some kind of routine to work by so that I have a set routine. Does anybody have any reccomendations of routines or anything that would help me gain muscle mass and strength? Please help me out...

Just a side not I have access to a full gym and weights at our Student Rec Center
 
I personally reccomend you read the stickies (the thread's at the top of strength and power that say sticky: new member resources" and "sticky: forbidden topics" etc.
