Time to eat crow about Belal

Just a hard working guy maximizing his talent. Something to cheer on, not to shit on. He is definitely not the most talented fighter, but he finds ways to beat good fighters. I personally appreciate that.

not even close. Look at belals ground and pound. he’s just control and throws these dainty shots to not give up any position and just plays the shitty game that mma has become.

Move. Never engage. Throw something once in. A while and hold on for dear life and the guy keeps getting up.

Belal was hurt visibly a few times. Belal won by control.

in no fighting sport should you win by control and not harming someone in a fight. This isn’t bjj or are wrestling. It’s supposed to simulate a fight.
And where this takes place is inside a cage.

Taking the fight out of the fight. Not harming an opponent. You take him down he gets back up. And the scoring is well he moved well. And would get a takedown.

Moving and grappling is fine. You need to do something with it. Not just I’m on top more to win a fight or even climb the ranks.
 
He is basically Jon Fitch. Very good fighter but a style you can’t appreciate.

I'm not really sold on him being all that good. im not sold on any welterweights except khamzat and colby.
 
Belal is like John Ruiz. But a special Olympic version. John won a world title.
His game was about clinching you to death. And avoid anything related to the fight. Occasional jab and a right cross as h e ran from you and locked you up anytime anlunch was thrown.
He did this strategy after tua blew him up.

move move move. Someone throws he clinches. Ties you up and that’s how he fought.

an occasional jab cross. it’s just gaming the rules of a fight.


frusterate not engage. Lock up. Rinse repeat.
 
Ultimate gatekeeper tbh. He's not elite anywhere but he's good everywhere so he's a solid test to any guy trying to break into the top 5. I don't see him beating Usman, Colby, Burns, Edwards, or Khamzat though.

Really don't care for his style but honestly he seems like a cool dude so I'm never that mad about him proving me wrong. Definitely thought Luque would finish him, especially when Luque rocked him in the third, but man he proved me wrong. Deserves a title eliminator IMO.
 
More people might like him if he wasnt so ugly. If he had that style looking like rockhold he would have more fans here
 
No crow eating from me :D I knew Luque had to win by finish or he would lose, Belal put on a very good performance considering he's fasting for ramadan etc

I think that Bilel will become a real WW Top10 gatekeeper who nobody wants to fight because of how freaking boring he is. He took the neckbeard point fight system to new levels, so respect to that, but he will not get many guys who want to fight him, thats for sure. So war Bilel Mahmud
