Economy Tim Apple Delivers With $500 Billion US Investment

DJT teased this last week, apparently official now.

The Golden Age Enjoyer-In-Chief is excited.

Weird to tie trump to this decision which has nothing to do with trump or politics.

Lol $500B investment in Skynet server manufacturing and training of the workers required to make and maintain them. Of course, not enough Skynet to surveil us yet. Gotta sprinkle them AI servers up all over the US. Such happy news <{outtahere}>

Very curious how that total jobs number breaks down. 100% it is not all Apple employees. Probably an estimate of the people who will gain work to build the new data centers.

A bit misleading as the majority will just be employees already under a construction firm who will win the bid.

Big tech is, rightfully, not hiring right now.

It's incredibly vague. The chip manufacturers are usually a lot more specific when they make these sort of investment announcements, but whatever. I don't care for Apple and "proud American company" draws a smirk, but they're good for the $500 bills. Okay.

Def good news. Hopefully this is just the start and other companies will get involved.

Trump met with Cook last week at the White House and pre-emptively made an announcement before Apple could, even citing the figure. But Donald has a knack for wildly exaggerating, and $500 billion over four years is no joke. It turns out he wasn't bullshitting, yet again.

Well, Trump does throw a lot of stuff out there it's hard to tell sometimes but I hope he keeps this train rolling. I think no matter what he does some will always see it as wrong and unhappy with any form of success.

Looks like it will be focused on the AI, R&D and infrastructure side - which is going to tap into a over exerted hiring base.

But it's good news and Cook seems responsive to DJT and this is exactly the kind of investments that keep US ahead of China / Brics and way ahead of europe; expending domestic influences over next gen technology

It was the same shit with Biden. I posted this several times, and people didn't like it or had no comment. Everyone views things through a thoroughly political lens and tends to assume you're as rabidly partisan as they are.

No. America, Motherfucker. Do you get it?

(Not you you Cajun, but you know what I mean)

Thank you, Biden

This has been in the works for a few years.

You could say the same thing about TSMC's rapidly expanding US capex during the Biden Admin. There was no chance it was ever going to put up a single fab then call it a day, and that was obvious given how much land they acquired.

Yeah I've always been of the opinion that president's are a mixed bag. Some good and some bad. Not everything Biden did or Trump does or go back to Obama, Bush, clinton... its only if you listen to the biased media do you get that impression

Read it's 20k net new employees (touching on 2.3 million adjacent existing employees for support roles) which seems likely considering the plan is a server farm in Houston, manufacturing school in Michigan and data centers in NC, California, Iowa, Nevada, AZ, Washington and Oregon

Trump just likes to get people to say they're giving us hundreds of billions of dollars based on nothing.

Just like he did with Japan, and he's trying to do with Zelensky.

He does not care of it's true as long as the headline says $500B+
