This looks amazing...can someone more knowledgeable fill me in on how close Marvel comic Thor follows any of the mythology? LIke that's obviously Hel, can I expect an appearance from Fenrir or Jormungand? cuz I'm imagining Hulk fighting either of those and it's blowing my mind lol

The Fenris Wolf will appear in the movie.

In the comics, all the important mythical Norse creatures are there. Back in the 80s, my favorite Thor issue was when he fought Jormungand a.k.a. the Midgard Serpent. They really showed Jormungand's body encircling the Earth. The fight was so epic that they each panel was either a one page or two page blowup.

Yeah, but... Thor is thousands of years old. He's the god of battle, strenght and thunder. Not an office worker with friends from work he goes out to Friday beers with. The joke seemed out of place to me as well.

Still gonna geek out to this movie.
