In Umars defense though he was looking as equal if not better than Merab in those rounds he won, if he showed one thing it’s that he’s elite. But then championships rounds has the word champion in it, and that’s where Merab showed why he is the champion, broken hand or not Umar was going to struggle in those later rounds.

Dricus started Judo at 5 years old, then wrestling at 12 years old, then kickboxing at 14. I timestamped this, but he talks about it at 4:26




You'd have better argument saying he clearly prefers striking, which is mostly true, except for having more wins via submission than anything else. Regardless, the first 9 years of his martial arts journey was him grappling as a child. Him and Merab both started with judo predominately, and some wrestling. Both he and merab have stated that they liked Judo better, too.

For what it's worth, I'd never argue that dricus is Merab's level of wrestler lol. He's not at all. I'm just pointing out the similarities for the sake of the comparison that this thread is about.
