This is likely the last time we see izzy fight

No, he has no claim whatsoever to greatest MW of all time.

Saying that is just utter silliness and recency bias.

Anderson Silva is arguably greatest of all time - not just at middleweight. And Izzy could barely squeak out a decision against ancient Silva.

Izzy benefited from the weakest MW division ever, and probably would lose to prime Chris Weidman.
izzy would beat prime wideman easily come one. Although I do thing in that era vitor and hendo would be interesting matchups against him.

i liked anderson as well because he made people look avg but izzy has a strong claim (the only 3 time mw champ) and is only bad loss was strickland. izzy and volk are the greatest fighters out of the post connor era. If he isn't number 1, he is definitely the next standard future mw will be judged against.

Sean Strickland still exists.

lol.

Weidman beat Silva...twice... He then went on to go 1-6 before losing to a Disney YouTuber and couldn't even put away pillow-fisted cut-rate grappler Chael at 30% effort.

How do any of these things factor into your "Silva is the greatest of all time" argument?

The bet the farm on the Weidman that beat Silva twice and Machida over Izzy.

Vitor didn't usually do well against technical strikers.

He loses he can no choice but crawl to Pereria for a fight. Or be a glorified gatekeeper at mw

I was thinking if he loses then possibly. But with him saying "I'll miss this" I'm feeling he might retire in the octagon tonight win or lose.

Probably throws retirement talks then goes back for another high profile fight, if he wins, then is probably him vs Strickland for the rematch, i dont see him going after Pereira at LHW, he has the last win and that seems to be enough for him.
