This is the perfect timing for both fighters.
Izzy is on a 3 fight skid and desperately needs a winnable fight, but at the same time he's not gonna take a nothing to gain fight against some jobber, it has to be somewhat high profile but he has to have some confidence too so facing a guy he's already beat makes sense.
Costa has traded wins and losses since the Izzy fight, but looked impressive in his last fight and has a bit of momentum at the moment. He's not quite back in contender status yet and doesn't deserve a top contender at the moment, but a high profile revenge fight against the guy who handed him his most devastating loss should be enough to motivate him.
Izzy has declined mentally for sure, Costa might be back to his pre Izzy fight mentality, I could see a much different fight this time around.
Man I miss Costa from a few years ago, one of THE best fighters to watch on the entire roster, would love to see him bring back that fire again.
