Can't believe nobody has said roaming data fees on cell phones.

Some of the most ridiculous shit is people getting bills in the multiple thousands from using their cellphone in another country on vacation without signing up for some sort of package.

Enough outrage has made this better, but shit stories like a guy getting a $20,000 cellphone bill because his kid streamed youtube videos in Mexico is just some of the most outrageous price gouging shit ever imaginable.

Hotel rooms. Nothing worse than paying $150 to rent a bed. Especially when on vacation and are hardly going to be in the room.

Well, to be fair, hotel room price ranges really very so you need to say high end hotels. I've stayed in some real shitty hostels that ran me like $30 bucks a night. For a lot of people, going on vacation is an excuse to pamper themselves in unnecessary extravagence and they just really want the peace of mind of not having silly shit happen around them that could ruin things.

Guys complaining about razors... safety razors are a great investment and you will save money. Your wallet and face will thank you.

Air plane tickets are overpriced. Specially when there aren't a lot of airlines competing against each other. And don't get me started on that scam known as first class. I love to fly first but I only do it when I have points, I would never pay 10k on a ticket.

I use them and must admit I've cut myself pretty bad a few times. I also wouldn't use it to manscape my balls...

And agree with price of first class travel. It's like spending a thousand dollars an hour. And it's still not enjoyable... flying sucks... it just makes it a lot less miserable.

Shopping for a wakeboarding boat recently

We're talking 70k for the basic one and 170k for the top of the line

And that's with boat show discounts

A common expression is there are only two days you enjoy your boat. The day you buy it, and the day you sell it.

Cost, docking fees, maintenance - all a royal pain in the arse (unless you are somewhere in the upper one percenter group where you have others taking care of all that shit and have a super yacht).

I guess it depends on the city and location. I mean, Hotels in major cities are a ripoff usually. You could stay way the fuck on the outskirts for cheap if you wanted to. The couple of times I went to San Diego and did get a hotel, I got a room at America's Best Value Inn/Red Roof (changed over a couple years ago) because the room was like $67 a night. It wasn't nice and it was small.. but I spent literally six hours a day in there to sleep and shower.

I still think AirBnB is the way to go these days. I found an entire one bedroom apartment in Dublin City Center on River Liffey for $70 a night recently. Can't fucking beat it. Plus I've found that a lot of hotels are clustered in shitty boring, parts of cities. When I've rented private rooms through AirBnB, Like in Seattle and Portland, I got to choose the neighborhood I wanted to stay in and felt I got a much more authentic experience.

I will also say the Ops point on hard liquor is great.

What I can't stand though is beer prices at sporting events. The stadium prices because they have a fucking monopoly on it is ridiculous.

Another rip off I witnessed was someone getting hosed ATM fees to withdraw money at a strip joint. Was like $25 fee to withdraw cash from it. Fucking criminal.

Cars. I was looking at the Ford Raptor, it was around 30k in America but over a 100k in Australia. Luxury tax, bastards.

The biggest is the monoply on housing. Spending your whole life paying off property is bullshit.

Yeah, that's smart shopping on your part. $70 bucks is probably not far off what someone pays on a daily equivalent for their monthly rent. So virtually same price you are getting someone to clean after you and some amenities. Hopefully people are really washing the bedsheets!

This caught me off-guard in April last year. Was in Mexico for vacay and after arranging a lil action in Cancun, I left the resort and was on their data. For about 9 hours of very little use, I managed to rack up a $220 bill. That hook up was a lot more pricey than the sushi and beers, but I didn't realize that until a month later. Good news is I called AT&T and got them to instead apply a retroactive Mexico roaming endorsement and it took care of 95% of the charges for $35.

Someone had already stated shaving razors. They are very expensive for being plastic with a small sliver of cheap steel. Also ink cartridges for printers are very expensive.

Get a safety razor... blades are like 10 cents. Also, refill the ink or use 3rd party ink. I never pay more than about $1 a cartridge.

All go with Kobe beef. That stuff had better taste like meat off an actual angel for that price.

Houses and apartments in my state are overpriced. Why are they overpriced? Because people are charging ridiculous amounts for even small houses, ensuring that you need to be making a lot of money to afford a decent house by yourself. Cars are overpriced too.
