They Live log.

God, reading up on programs is fucking dull.

Well then don't.

Just do exactly what I tell you. Number #1, you're now a powerlifter, or perhaps strongman; something with less olympic lifting, because I don't know enough about the technical aspects to program variations of lifts very well. Number #2, you'll have to periodize your consumption of monster, to maintain sensitivity for heavy days. Number #3, every day begins with bacon and eggs, then Squats or deadlifts.

Huhn, I can't tell if you're serious but I do like the monster idea. Hell, If I could I'd do #3 in a heartbeat. I need to eat more.

Like many things, I'm half serious.

If monster is used purely as a pre-workout stimulant, then it makes sense to use it in proportion to how beneficial it will be for that workout. At the very least, limit or avoid monster on non-training days and deloads.

Why aren't you eating more already?

I drink it because I enjoy the taste. I should limit it, though.

No. Not lately. I haven't been eating much.I could probably eat more.

I just wanted to see what I could do. My bar path was shit, and the closer grip was irritating my wrist. I think I'm going to experiment with my hand placement. Felt awkward today, I haven't snatched in awhile.

What kind of bar do you have, Belph?

The cheaper Pendlay. It's a definite upgrade over cheapy bars. Yet I'm still thinking of purchasing a better bar. I'm assuming you're looking for a bar ? If so, Ask Cartos. He's posted a link for a Texas Power bar that's a steal, imo.

I have a generic bar that will probably work fine for squats and bench and whatnot, at least for a while. I bookmarked the link for the TPB that Cratos posted. Would that be a good bar for Olympic lifting as well? I'd like to get one that will serve both purposes, if possible. Then I'd just deadlift with the cheapo bar I've got now.

Probably not. I'd assume There are bars that may serve such a purpose. Legio may know.

OB6-C 7' Olympic Power Bar (B) 1,500lb test, 1-1/4" diameter, 45lbs. $185.00 Delivered; $155.00 In Store

We had one of these at our place in Iowa City and while it didn't spin super fast, it was plenty sufficient for everything we threw at it between squatting and cleaning. We never really deadlifted with it, though.

No problem, man. At $185 it is about as cheap of a quality bar as you're going to get. Just know that it isn't a "true" weightlifting bar. It is more of a dual weightlifting/power bar but it spins much better than a power bar. I think I cleaned 357 on our bar from Jesup, if that helps ease your mind, though.

Sounds like it will be perfect for what I need it for then. I don't imagine I'll be cleaning 357 anytime soon, haha.
