They Live log.

The funny thing is it's ridiculous now. I could only imagine how I'd look 75 lbs heavier walking that puppy.

When do i get a man card ?

Looking into it. Cratos posted the Texas Power Bar for only 219 dollars, i think. I'll probably buy that. Probably going to be a month before i can. So pressing, snatching, benching and cleaning are out right now.

You don't.

Most fatherless bastards don't get that card anyways.this was specifically for me to chuckle at.

Off to get my "I used to be able to press body-weight but food happened" card. this is for everyone else to chuckle at.

EDIT:

Neck harness
75lbs x 25.

^ I could have done more. Although it's a new weight. Best to leave a bit in the tank.

Always good to see a fellow whippersnapper on this forum.

Is your 195 press strict or what? That's fucking godly.

Yeah, That one was strict. I've been having multiple problems as of late though. Proper programming is probably the biggest thing i need to fix.

Goddamnit. My press is so terrible, even compared to my bench.

Why don't you just pick up some program and follow it? Hepburn method, 5/3/1, Madcows, Smolov, anything.

If it helps. My squat is terribly pathetic.

I've been thinking about 5/3/1 for my overhead press. Though, Right now i can't buy the E-book.

Do you have any idea if this is correct ?

I torrented the ebook.

I prefer this calculator.

If you do decide to do 5/3/1, I'd really recommend giving it a try on all your lifts, not just OHP. It provides long term, steady improvement with enough variety to avoid boredom.

I don't care for squats too much myself, but I still do them. I want to deadlift 500 before I turn 17.

I like This one more as well. Thanks for the link.

500 is a nice number. I won't even get near that till i have proper form. How far are you ?

5/3/1 is not that difficult to figure out. It's

Week 1: 5 reps @ 65%, 5 reps @ 75%, 5 reps+ @ 80% (AMRAP)
Week 2: 3 reps @ 70%, 3 reps @ 80%, 3 reps+ @ 90% (AMRAP)
Week 3: 5 reps @ 75%, 3 reps @ 85%, 1 rep+ @ 90% (AMRAP)
Week 4: 5 reps @ 40%, 5 reps @ 50%, 5 reps @ 60%

- After week 4, add 5lbs to your working max for bench and press, add 10lbs to your working max for deadlift and squat
- For your working max, start with 90% of what you believe your true 1RM is

Obviously, whether you do a 2, 3 or 4 day split is really important. I think the 4-day split is great because of the sheer amount of assistance you can get in. On the 4-day split you can do pretty much every major exercise.

Some people feel, though, that it is difficult to get your OHP up if you are doing it only once per week- especially if the programme is fairly low volume like 5/3/1. You can partially address that by doing BBB assistance (5*10 at 45-55% after the 5/3/1) and with the right assistance. You can also do other overhead movements on other days, e.g. do some push press as assistance to your bench on bench day. If you actually don't want to do bench as a main lift, then one possibility, I guess, would be to do SOHP one day and Push Press another day. I am guessing that that would be very effective.

I'm almost 400, but I think 100lbs is fully possible in 7.5 months.

I like that idea. I'd probably use a different set of assistance exercises on the day that replaces bench pressing.

Wouldn't be hard to come up with something: the 'classic' assistance on OHP day is dips and chins, you could perhaps also do BBB. On push press day you could do z-press, tricep work like lying tricep extensions, maybe even some jerks. If you can bench, there is always the option of doing some bench as assistance on one of the days.

531 has always intrigued me. Maybe if i ever get back into powerlifting in the future. I don't think amrap works well with oly lifts!

I like that. I'll probably do jerks seeing as i can do either split or power. I'll probably do some close grip benching as well. I think my benching is better suited for assistance work anyways.

Probably not. Though, 5/3/1 Does allow me to include my O-lifts. I only do the "Power" variations, so this works out well.

No doubt you can use them as assistance. However, the oly lifts shouldn't be the assistance in the program of an oly lifter. :) Will be interesting to see what kind of programming you throw together for yourself.

Also, if i ever did 531, I'd squat at least three times a week.

What do O lifters use for assistance anyways ?

I could get away with 3 days a week squatting. I still have quite a bit of gains to make, i think.

Back squats. Front squats. Snatch pulls. Clean pulls. Hang variations. Press. Push press. Romanian deadlifts. Drop snatches. Overhead squats.

I don't use the last three listed.
