Even as the year turns to 2015, there are a few humans among us, and alive, from the 1800's. It boggles the mind and it's rather amazing to think about, as this statement will only be valid for a tiny while longer.
There are 6, to be exact. I remember reading about the subject a little over a year or so ago, and there were 20. Currently, here is the lineup:
Misao Okawa 05 MAR 1898
Gertrude Weaver 04 JUL 1898
Jeralean Talley 23 MAY 1899
Susannah Jones 06 JUL 1899
Bernice Madigan 24 JUL 1899
Emma Morano 29 NOV 1899
After this, there are 7 people left from the year 1900.
I am an amateur historian that focuses primarily on WWII and the interwar years preceding it, exclusively the European timeline. I stumbled across these names the other day and wanted to make mention of it. Since I primarily study this era and the figures associated with it, here is an interesting comparison on just how old these people are and amazingly are still with us:
Many of National Socialism's most prominent characters were all coincidentally born in the year 1900. Martin Bormann, Heinrich Himmler, Gestapo M
