Politics aside, as a Canadian fan of the sport every time I read "White House Card" I cringe at the thought and honestly can't think of a more ridiculous venue for a dozen reasons.

South American isn't the America represented by the United States of America. My step father is from Rio, hates when people call their land South America. Just like any natural born Brasilian will tell you they aren't American and that's its disrespectful to call them such. Not to mention the 2 different continents.
