Opinion Theodore Roosevelt Statue is Coming Down

Helen Keller, Rosa Parks, and a Confederate general. One of these things is not like the others. Not sure how that had anything to do with socialism. I don't think it's the left ignoring history. So he was still in government after he served the Confederacy, Mo is aware racism was very much alive in Alabama's government after the Civil War, right?

The agenda dumbs down as to the complexities of history. Did being a Confederate equal being a racist, or fighting for the Confederacy mean fighting for slavery?

He was honored by the US military for his service after the war as well and buried at Arlington.

Yeah, I got the argument, I just don't agree with it. First off, yes, fighting for the Confederacy meant you were fighting for slavery. It meant fighting to preserve the most racist institution imaginable.

Second, being honored by the US government afterwards doesn't absolve him of anything. It was still another hundred years before those freed slaves could even vote. If he actually was fighting to end slavery or something, that would be some helpful information to have. Until then, the argument is just that he was a part of the government, which means nothing given the time and place.

As a lifelong fan of T.R., I would genuinely appreciate any info on what he’s accused of that brought the statue down.
Thanks in advance Sherbros

for starters he basically ushered in imperialism overseas. His carelessness while with the Rough Riders led to the death of many men as well. That is more than enough

Link me up bro, I want to know!

Holding people from over 100 years ago to our current societal standards is fucking stupid. Grow a pair and find something better to do.

Meanwhile we are erecting statues of lowlife criminals and people are celebrating. Our world is mentally ill and it’s being encouraged.

That statue is in horrible taste and should have been torn down when the rest were. Would like to see it replaced with a more inclusive statue. George Floyd got one, so they could do one for someone like Tamir Rice or Trayvon Martin. Or one representing the lgbtqia+ community would be nice. How about one honoring our first black female VP? Lot's on good options
Lol, you jumped the shark a little there, a good troll post is more subtle.
