I had an idea to start a thread about all the oddities to be found on the world wide web but I obviously needed to find some of the locations before I could do anything so I set out to find the obscure, the strange, the cool, the out of the way, or just plain weird. This could also include anything just plain awesome, science related or otherwise. Your post might be pics, video's, articles, or really just anything you find that might be strange, creepy, esoteric, paranormal, scientific, philosophical, or otherwise just really cool.

I'll start it off with a few I've come across. I don't want to tip my hand completely but if there is any interest in this thread I'll periodically add more.

wtfsigfd.com (Where the F should I go for drinks) This site allows you to enter your zip code and it tells you where to do drink. It gives you a recommendation and even has a button that says, no that place looks like shit. I don't know how many places in the world it covers but give it a try.

This is the theory of everything, mapped, at quantamagazine.org, just hit start and enjoy. It will give you a concise layman's explanation for some complex ideas.

This is the SCP (Secure, Contain, Protect) Foundation. Its a weird website dedicated to fictional stories about dangerous relics and artifacts.

This is a place called codedoodles. I'll let you check it out for yourself.

This is a paranormal site called Altered Dimensions. It falls under the weird category for sure. Its like a train wreck that is hard to look away from. If you scroll down and read some of the article titles they beg to be clicked on, like the one about a mom reported pushing her dead toddler in a swing all night.

This is a cool site for things related to space. Not sure how accurate all of it is or who sponsors the site but its worth a look if you like news and articles on space.

Sometimes crimes go unsolved and websites pop up like the one I'm about to link for you. This is a site dedicated to the 1977 Girl Scout Murders. If you click on the timeline on the left it will start you out with the story as it transpired. It is certainly a very strange and horrible case that involves the paranormal. You may get sucked into this vortex for a while.

This is a site for people who either think they are vampires or want to be vampires. I've tried to vet each site I post so as not to post anything that might violate the Sherdog rules but some of these sites are expansive. If you want to see a crazy corner of the web check these fools out.

This is a behind the scenes look at the making of the Shining that I have never seen before. It focuses on Jack Nicholson and the "Here's Johnny" scene. Very interesting look for movie buffs.

This is a philosophical argument that I have never heard. I thought I understood the implications when the first half of the argument was stated, the Experience Machine, but then realized when the second part was stated, the Reverse Experience Machine, that I had not fully grasped the implications. I won't spoil it, you will have to watch it to discuss it. I personally would have a hard time leaving the reverse experience machine.

THREAD CONTRIBUTIONS (Generally speaking only websites will be linked in the OP but there are other discussions and videos found within the thread as well)

This site takes obscure words and ideas and explains them in short videos. An excellent place to kill some time. Its called the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows. I'll give a link below and a sample video.

Zenosyne, the feeling that time keeps going faster.

Video Scramble. Can't link it, as it can be detrimental to my account. Find it for yourselves. Download what you can. Video mixtapes are awesome.

I'm on mobile but one of my favorite websites is: worth1000.com

This is another tech/science based site called Futurism. Some good stuff there if you like to see tech and science that is coming in the near future or is being researched currently.

sherdog.com best groundhog experts ever.

This is the public info site called planecrasinfo.com. Its all public record and as far as I can tell there are no gruesome photos or anything like that. Although there are photos of all the plane crashes, and also recordings and transcripts of the pilots last words. I'm not sure why this site is necessary but if you want to know plane crashes this is the place to be.

Here is a link to the last words page.

And here is a link to the main site

I don't know if these also qualify but they are sites i like to go to.

http://www.gizmag.com

Not a porn site. Giz stands for gizmo. Has articles about lots of new technology.

http://www.zergnet.com

Kind of just random articles about celebrities, food, gaming, etc

Check this site out, its called theChive, even has a sub-area called theBerry. I think you will like it.

http://thechive.com/

Here is one of the stories on theChive right now. Its the world record for slacklining. Does this guy have a death wish?

Analspurs.com was great til some ass hat took it over

That vampire website is fucking hilarious. I want to be a vampire after reading all the info on it.

Yea its nuts, and there is alot of stuff there too. I'm not sure if its just kids who are doing it to be rebellious of if some of those people are legit crazy and want to drink your blood because they believe they are vampires.

I got the feeling they are legit crazy and they believe every word written on that website. I faintly remember seeing those vampires in a video or documentary of some sort.

The Great Attractor

The Great Attractor is a gravity anomaly in intergalactic space within the vicinity of the Hydra-Centaurus Supercluster at the center of the Laniakea Supercluster that reveals the existence of a localized concentration of mass tens of thousands of times more massive than the Milky Way.

This one is bothersome in several ways. I have tried to navigate the page to its depths but I always get lost. It appears to be a website made by a person or persons about satanic worship, or the Illuminati or some combination of that plus religion, demonology, and numerology.

The text and message is often so convoluted that it appears as if there are riddles or messages hidden within the text and numbers. What is the most troubling is the immense size of the page. A person would have to spend a huge number of hours to make it. I have no idea how far it goes or even what the overall message of the site is.

Sometimes in the dark corners of the internet we encounter crazy, this may be one such instance.
