Is there a decent dairy alternative that matches the same texture/consistency of milk for like cereal?

Really almond milk but nothing really has that milk like quality. The trick is to drink skim milk so when you switch to something like almond milk it’s not such a huge difference. Skim is decent but watery.

I would do that but I am lactose intolerant.... only with milk. I can have some cheese or cook with milk in like my scrambled eggs no problem but drinking it I get Montezuma's Revenge real bad. It's been rough trying to find a replacement. Grumble.

Not sure if you get Oatly where you're at, but if you do it's worth a try. Oatly whole is actually really good. Much more calories than almond milk, but I only drink it in my coffee so it doesn't add up to much.

I’ve seen the box before never thought about buying this. I think I’ll give this a try. Thanks

I might give this a shot if I can find it.

@Trotsky if you go to Starbucks don’t get iced coffee, get the cold brew instead.

I get it with almond milk and cinnamon powder. Cuts down on the sugar and fat from whole milk or cream

Yeah, cold brew is my favorite. Had a coworker back in the day who had a small crush on me and, knowing my hate of hot drinks, regularly made big pitchers of cold brew. I'd drink it black, maybe with some chocolate syrup.

I mean, sure, but actually no:

Basically there are three generally fatty positions in Rugby: Loosehead prop, tighthead prop, and hooker.

Elsewhere, they tend to look more like the above.

Edit:

But I see from your other posts that you already know this, you sly boots.

I played hook in college out of necessity. We needed someone who regularly attended practice to play it and our team only had a few very committed players since it was just a club sport. I found it funny going to each game and noticing every single opposing hook was around 5’6 and maybe 180+. We didn’t have the luxury of matching people that way. I was actually pretty undersized (in weight) for the scrum as well. The rest of the scrum always weighed more than me but I was better handling rucks (if I could get there first) than playing a forward spot. I miss rugby a lot but in only three years, my legs were pretty banged up. I remember senior year the spring semester, I could only play a half cause my knees would swell up and I couldn’t run anymore ha.

Even casual rugby games stop being worth it after a while. You just get hurt so often. Start to ask yourself why you keep doing it, especially with the concussions.

I'd probably try touch rugby again, though.

Yea, some of the team would talk about doing the city leagues after college and I always thought fuck that. In college, I could lift and run daily so I was wearing down at peak shape. If I played that while holding down a career, I definitely would tear something or worse with a head injury. I actually had a concussion the final semester of college from the sport. Made studying nearly impossible so I just had to put all my down time into it in order to survive the semester. I think it lingered into the summer and some of the fall too because I eventually felt clear again and couldn’t believe how “foggy” it was in my mind. BJJ is still rough but much safer and you can do it throughout your life.

Aren't club rugby teams just drinking teams that happen to play rugby anyways?

I think the way you join the city league here is by drinking at a certain bar and eventually asking to join. Drinking is definitely the priority. We played WVUs C-Team (or something absurdly backup back up team) and at one point I was getting checked for a concussion and one of their players ran over to hand me a beer. The stories you get out of those games are amazing.

Our local college had a club team and a bunch of alumni showed up for a bachelor party and they I think sold us out of 4-5 kegs of beer and a couple bottles of whisky and tequila. It was amazing.

It's just a lot of those big ass dude's that play rugby are Islanders. Even in like the Japanese leagues and shit a ton of those bigger built dudes are Samoan, native Hawaiian, or Tongan.
Well that’s true. Rugby is pretty popular here in Polynesia. I was something of a rugby player myself in my day (blindside flanker), but not like my dad or uncle. All I was good for was aggression and tackling. I was more into American football where I mostly played linebacker/DE, TE.

That’s still kinda small for a hooker. I run about 5’11” 220.

I thought the talk of you being fat was all just jokes.

not my fault you misinterpreted a joke .......you silly goose

Never been to Starbucks, they failed in Australia

<TheWire1>

Completely unexpected. I would have thought EVERYTHING that's popular in the US would be popular in the rest of the Anglosphere.

I always got respect for the very few countries that manage to escape or reject large US business empires. Aside from Australia and just off the top of my head:

Walmart failed in Brazil
McDonald's failed in Bolivia
Coca Cola failed in Peru (but they came back and bought out the one local soda that it couldn't beat )

South America ftw

Let me guess you order those frufru sugary drinks starbucks has too? Unicorn sludge or whatever those are called. That's what most people order when they go in Starbucks.. those diabetes traps that have like 400 calories

I know somebody who got a white mocha something or other at starbucks everyday and didn't realize it had about 800 calories.

anyway, I think it costs 20 cents to make your own oatmilk and maybe two minutes when you're used to it. Put in a date to sweeten it slightly and some cinnamon to cinnamony it up.

How about Incarnations of Immortality? That was another Piers Anthony series that I really enjoyed. Funny, I read a lot of horror in my teens but it didn't translate into me becoming a huge horror movie consumer. I was a sucker for Stephen King novel adaptations although half of them sucked, and other book adaptations like Omen and the Exorcist, but I never got into more modern horror that relies on a lot of gore. Suspense is where it's at for me.
Yes, I read Incarnations and enjoyed it. I read everything I could get my hands on from Anthony back then.

I had pretty much the same experience with horror. I think reading it is a far, far different experience than watching it, for one. And as you implied, it seldom translates easily to the screen. King especially. His characters are the centerpiece, everything else is secondary. Very seldom does a movie capture that like, say, Misery, Shawshank or Stand By Me. I’d include The Shining if it wasn’t so far removed from the book. I could honestly die a happy man today, but, the one thing that keeps me going is knowing that, if I do, I might miss an adaptation of The Stand that doesn’t suck balls.
