Kruk was a first baseman, and he wasn't that good. And Ruth was only fat at the end of his career. First basemen are generally big, strong dudes who don't have to be great athletes, though it doesn't hurt. Pitchers don't need to run or anything, but a certain physical grace is pretty important to having good command. The hand-eye coordination and grace requirements for baseball are really extreme. Running and throwing and agility kind of depend on the position.

Not being fat isn't the same thing as being in shape , I don't think Ruth ever took care of himself , I'm not hating on baseball I just don't believe it requires a high level of fitness to excel.

I think if I lived downtown I'd be there more often if for nothing else to get a cup of coffee and play with their office/shop pups.

But I am working from home a lot and I live a good 20 minute commute from my office so at the end of the day all I want to do is go home.

I know I've talked to Rocco a couple times on IG from things ranging from him saying his 16 year old daughter has a license and me asking if I should avoid the roads for a time all the way to legit subjects like "hey, my folks are XYZ age what are good neighborhoods to look at in Salt Lake, Weber County, and Utah County for them to live?"

It's just a lot of those big ass dude's that play rugby are Islanders. Even in like the Japanese leagues and shit a ton of those bigger built dudes are Samoan, native Hawaiian, or Tongan.
