Would you approve of Trump using emergency powers to build his wall?

You're missing one profundity.

When you have a crisis, you are looking at a pattern in which you can see the issue getting worse. The illegal immigration issue from the Mexican border is not getting worse, despite the moaning the president performs, or you guys parroting it after listening to it like a dog shown a card trick.....
I would say that the drugs, human trafficking and illegal immigration that costs the country billions constitutes as a crisis, one that has been overlooked. I don't believe there is any time limit or quota involved in something being classified as a crisis.

Cannot wait for a Dem president to issue emergency declarations on : guns, climate change, taxes, etc.

Really opens the door to Democrats bypassing congress to address issues like climate change, healthcare, even income inequality. If this horse shit is a national emergency, despite every factual assessment disagreeing with the garbage the dummies are spinning itt, then anything is a national emergency.

If permitted, this changes the office of the president forever.

The Court won’t permit it surely, but I do worry they punt on it and say it’s a political question. Could be a standing issue too. It’s a dangerous game to play, hopefully this gets shut down.

People are making a mistake by viewing the Supreme Court in purely political terms. Roberts isn't the only conservative Justice to have voted against certain actions by this administration, merely the most common one. Gorsuch and Thomas have also done so. Gorsuch, specifically, in an immigration case dealing with executive oversight. He also tends to find separation of powers arguments persuasive - and attempts to fund something that congress has not agreed to fund would run straight into that, because the power of the purse is pretty clearly reserved to Congress.

I just wonder what transpires in Constitutional cases like "Emergency Powers"(which we might have). I'm guessing that Trump has to provide adequate evidence to support there being a National Emergency and if so, I think if he gives the court everything the Border Patrol has said and reported, there should be no reason to deny Trump using the powers to appropriate funds.

I'd say to just take the deal the senate agreed to, build a barrier in problem areas with the funds available and prove it works.

Uhh... Chief Justice Roberts of the SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES, Trop. <Varys01>

Come on, man. You just made yourself look bad in front of the idiots and morons here.
You make a moron of yourself with nearly every post dude. I just assumed you're not a serious poster.

Well he has no choice right now 'cause the last thing he wants is another Shutdown.

He'll take what he can get now and continue the fight.

The recent article on Texas I put up is very encouraging, however.

If they can get a border wall construction going there without the Political bullshit that's going on in the Government, it can only help Trump in the long run.

@Madmick ?

You're calling a Senior Mod a "low IQ individual"?

Yeah...you'll make a lot of friends here. {<diva}
The thread i posted in wasnt started by madmick. Obvously it was merged. Furthermore i could care less about making friends on an online forum.

More drugs enter in through other points of entry, and it's not even close.

The wall would not do much of anything to solve the human trafficking issue, and is a fool's attempt at even addressing it. It literally does nothing to disrupt or hurt the market.

If lost funds are your problem, you're squinting at the mole hill with a mountain at your back.

If he signs the spending bill, the national emergency gambit is dead. It's a fool's gambit to begin with, anyway, and sets a dangerous precedent.

The numbers show illegal immigration from Mexico on a downturn for over a decade while the number of VISA overstays rises, and our commercial seaports are not secured.

Not to mention he did absolutely nothing about it for over 2 years... Such an emergency

Those dude links to breitbart all day and then acts surprised when people call him a dumbass.
Are you trying to claim that these folks have not lost their loved ones to illegals?

If so, you're a pretty sick individual.

You guys, it's an emergency, we need billions of dollars!!!

Did you spend the 1.3 billion we gave you last year for this "emergency"????

You guys, it's an emergen-

Over and over it goes.

Sorry man lol.

My research goes back 15 years into the kinds of things happening along the border. I know little to nothing about the rest of it.

I have another ignorant question though.

Can Trump use military funding to supplement the cost of a wall?

I BELIEVE thats what the emergency action does.

He could but anything he does will almost certainly be challenged by the Democrats 'cause..... #FuckTrump

It is what it is.

But read the article I put up in the previous page. Would be a real kick in the Dems balls if Texas went ahead and started construction on a Border Wall themselves. :D
