Economy The [Wall / Government Shutdown] Megathread

Would you approve of Trump using emergency powers to build his wall?

  • Total voters
    92
  • Poll closed .
You know what's shameful, gaslighting on a border in the south when 6 (SIX) people on watch lists tried to cross the southern border while 41 came across the Canadian border and....crickets. Which do you think is more serious risk, 6 or 41?

Scream at the border agents bro. It was the agent that said it

You had a hard time figuring that out? He's been saying it non stop the last 2 days

Except for the fact that 90% of drugs, let alone the drugs responsible for killing people aren't coming through the border.

Why does he just get to make things up as justification for his wall?

The agent said just yesterday. He said they also apprehended people from India, Indonesia and a whole bunch of other weird places for southern border hoppers

He also said it happens all the time but that was just yesterday(one day)

Try Romania.

Yes.. Fucking Romania. <45>

For a business man, even a failed businessman as himself, he should understand the basic concept of supply and demand. Building a wall won’t prevent 300 overdoses at all.

So Drug Cartels don't exist then?

Good to know.

I feel so much safer now.

But the fact of the matter is that, with most of the data that I've seen on the topic, "economic anxiety" has very little to do with the rise of Trumpism. Sure, it may have made a difference electorally in terms of him winning midwestern states, but for the vast majority of his supporters, economic anxiety wasn't in the conversation whatsoever.
Could you develop your thesis a bit more?

None of that is remotely close to what I said.

Drug cartels just transport their drugs in other ways then across the border in a manner a wall would hinder.

The DEA concluded that drugs are mostly smuggled through legal points of entry not through any unsecured portions if the southern border.

Where are you and Trump getting your info from if not from the agency in place to provide that info?

Lmfao trump taking money away from victims of natural disasters for his own political benefit is classic trump.

I don't have that level of detail. I look at it like this. They needed a $12 billion bail out. The auto industry bailout was around $80 billion. So they are either getting fucker or getting rich.

The Trump shutdown is dicking them good. There's no one there to process farmer claims.

As a farmer in the bigger than category I'll tell you it has absolutely zero impact. Zero.

Recent futures sailed. Profits are better than last year. No need for subsidies to benefit from President Trump's economy.

Do you farm over 7000 acres?

Tell me moar!

Do IT!

Edit: to add: We don't give a flying fuck when claims are processed. They've never not been done by spring when they're paid for planting.
Knowledge to power.
Bring some.

I'ma gonna call this my @Hit-N-Run post.

Lol!

He's a failed businessman who turned a million into a billion before he received his inheritance in his 30s?
Is this an honest statement you wish to stand by on the record?

I have a perfectly clear conscience, I didn't vote for that orange, thin skinned, serial lying, incompetent, grifter. The people who voted for him should have a guilty conscience.
Such moral high ground....and so woke!

Yes it is. We now know that $1 million small loan was complete bullshit. It was north of $60 million and his father stepped in on numerous occasions to bail him out and after inheriting his fathers empire he bankrupted it to the point no U.S bank would touch him. Just because you believed The Apprentice doesn’t mean everyone else has to.

I've never seen it.

How many have you employed over the decades?

Good for you. That doesn’t change the facts on Trump though. The cult believed they elected The Apprentice Trump and now we are stuck with bankrupted casino Trump.
