The Walking Dead Season 9 Discussion = Lowest Mid Season Premiere Rating out of all Seasons.

I don't know. I'd suggest making it through the whole season.

I am familiar enough with the comics to know that shit is going down right after he dies.

I guess I will hang out to see the aftermath. If it goes down the gutter again though I will be out of reasons to stick around. Rick is by far my favorite part of the show. I like Daryl too, but he’s kind of a 1-dimensional cartoon character, not enough to stick around for.

Darryl will get a lot more development this season from what I am hearing

Im playing the walking dead on my phone and it follows the comics. Right now im doing a section based on the whisperers and how ricks group deals with them. That got me thinking..

The 1st episode of this season shouldve been about some survivors hearing a herd talking. Now we have the focus BACK on the zombies! Of course, each episode would slowly unravel the whisperers, but the start would be going FORWARD.

Instead we got some shit about a bridge being built?

The Walking Dead doing a pointless filler episode? Well I never!

Ive been smelling other posters farts, stinking up these threads about how the show sucks.

When negan came i was glad. Happy to see them run with the glenn kill. Very impressed with the character, even if he was way too skinny.

Then the shit went on and on...
Thats when i understood everyone elses gripes.

Negan's intro was legitimately great though, and one of the best things the show has ever done. It gave me a sprinkle of hope. Then some sissy fans started bitching about how violent and nihilistic it was(IE: Effective), and the show runners assured them they would never do something like that again.

Hope...gone.

Who’s the next bad guy group after these whisperer fellows get stomped by whatever remains of the good guys after their clash?

The problem with Negans intro was that it went way too far dark and gritty for what the atmosphere of the show had been. Besides the Terminus episodes, the walking dead has always been a campy cartoony show that has pretended to be dark horror soap opera drama. Then when Negan was introduced and we actually got to see some grimy under belly, it exposed the false reality of TWD being a dark horror soap opera drama. Even the way they styled the filming of Negans intro episode strayed away so far from how The Walking Dead is normally filmed; which to me has always looked like tv sitcom.

So Maggie And Daryl want too murder all the saviours so they want too release their leader To help them do this? Did I miss something or am i just over thinking this? Serious question.

I haven't watch Episode 3 but just heard a rumor (taken from interviews from Gimple and Kang) that on top of Rick Grimes' departure being left open ended (aka not killed off), his return would be slated for a Walking Dead full length feature film....

Looks like Michonne and Rick are gonna have a Brown Rick.

Idk, I thought that guy trying to rape Carl a few seasons back was pretty dark.

I almost hate to admit it, but that was the best TWD episode in years. And not by way of it being great, but just by it not sucking. The last line, 'we have to go see Negan' was retarded & I'm sure it will lead to further retardation, but for now, solid episode. Lots of Rick, and lots of Daryl, who is at his best as a character when talking with Rick.

That awkward moment when a mediocre actor looks directly into the camera for a few seconds in the middle of a scene, then looks away awkwardly, and the mediocre editor leaves it in the episode

same, they just wrote her off last minute, right before she was set to film they gave her the call that she won't be returning imagine that feeling you are a struggling actor finally got a role on a big show and then they nix your character last minute.

I hope they bring her back, but its a long shot.

Also it sucks they are killing Rick off, if they really wanted crossover numbers to Fear let Rick survive and in the finale of Fear the walking dead show a disheveled Rick Grimes barely clinging to life with slight amnesia discovered by Morgans crew and have Rick live with Morgan and the Fear group. That would be interesting and pair Rick up with Alicia as his new love interest. people will start watching Fear too.
It's messed up because TWD is the actor's bread and butter. Look at mad mens lead guy, he disappeared. Same with the cast of friends.

It's going to be difficult for Andy to get a new good role

I thought this episode was good by Walking Dead standards. The first episode had some stupid shit, the second episode had less stupid shit, now this one had even less. I like it. It had an interesting ending where I wasn’t sure what Maggie was going to do about the killing. I enjoy not knowing exactly what’s going to happen. Rick telling Gabriel to keep an eye on things was funny.

Was i the only one who thought it was ODD that with all the actors and characters they couldve chosen for Maggies carriage ride, they choose Glenn 2.0 to accompany her?

Yes, I laughed at that too. And the Rick montage.
