"The UFC will be bigger than soccer."

But he's missing out on Venum coupons & those amazing sponsorship opportunities

Yeah Biden is telling you the truth. Talk about idiots.

<WhatIsThis>

That left field comment would start to make sense... if you were speaking to an american.

Fuckin' idiot.

<{outtahere}>

UFC and Dana are bush league hucksters, bordering on criminals with the way they monopolize the space yet deny benefits and a liveable wage to most fighters. Every time Dana sees the UFC valuation rise while fighter pay stagnates, he pinches his chubby flanks to make sure he’s not dreaming and says “I’ve gotten away with it again!”

prediction: Dana will be charged with tax evasion and/or money laundering before 2030. If they’re this slimy to the public just imagine all the scams they’re running privately. Wanna bet Powerslap is just a laundering vehicle? They know they’ll take a loss from it so why do it? Washing dirty Vegas mob money.

Damn you’re dense. I’m not talking to anyone other than the idiot who thinks Trump is the only lying politician. That might be the funniest thing I’ve heard in quite some time.

He had to have meant the UFC will be bigger than soccer in the U.S.

he’s still wrong. He’s so wrong he still bullies the fighters in to bot talking numbers when they sign a new contract.

As much as I hate to in fairness to Dana a players salary doesn’t necessarily show how popular the sport is especially in a case like bringing Messi here to inject some life into American soccer just like they tried with David Beckham.

Lol back in 2012 Dana said teh UFC was "neck and neck with soccer"...
In 2009, remember when Dana had a call with someone and was feeling frustrated, he was like "Arguing with me about how big MMA will be in the next 10 years, like I could give a fuck..." and this and that lol, man, and Brock Lesnar was the only thing Dana had back then, but Brock made it big in 2016, and fired things up between him and DC in 2018, honestly, Lesnar is the biggest reason why UFC became big, he helped it become big, then Ronda by coming to WWE after UFC in 2018 then the Conor/Khabib rivlary thought brought attention from all the Muslim/Arab globe, and then the Jorge KO in 2019.

Conor esque antics already ruined MMA and the UFC in general. Thanks a lot casuals.

But he doesn't get any "Fight of the Night" bonuses, so.....

Not fair, soccer is a career while the UFC is an opportunity. “Sixty thousand dollars is a lot of money.” — Dana White

With time I don't see why MMA won't be the biggest sport in the world. The amount of time necessary I'm not sure. It is the best one though.

Any idiot that thinks the UFC will come close to being as big as "football" needs to be entered in a Power Slap match - preferably with someone other than his wife.

Dana also claimed that soccer players had no talent because the net is so big and there's hardly any goals scored. Dana is a moron and a great example of someone who has become successful because of a combination of being in the right place at the right time, connections, and the willingness to be ruthless. Dana is just like Trump and they also can't take criticism and lie constantly.

Soccer is the goat sport and premier sport in the planet, MMA is a d level sport that can never be in the same league as Soccer.
Yeah, actually, just in terms of money involved and international popularity, the sole Premier League might be above the UFC, and maybe MMA as a whole.
I obviously love MMA, but football has been here forever, it's not just absurdly popular, it's like boxing : more than a century of history, legends, etc.

I was 11 when we won the 98 world cup, and then another one 20 years later. I don't know if guys like Dana can fathom the impact it had on the country, especially in 98 where it was played at home. It was the 90's, life was really nice, but after the 12th of july, the whole country was blasted by a wave of euphoria that lasted entire months.
And we're "just" France. In South America, those people live and die for football, the passion is crazy. German fans are known to fill their stadium like no other, and I won't even talk about England, Italy or Spain, there'd be so much to say.

Money though... it's becoming absurd. Money has been here for a long time, but It's having a negative impact on the sport itself at this point.
Fighters need to be paid more, but no-one needs to be paid 1 fucking billion dollars, or euros, etc. (Especially Mbappé, who's our national treasure, but whose net worth is already around 200M lol)

Only individuals, like Conor, can be as popular as football stars, but MMA versus football, nope. Moreover Conor is obviously the exception more than the rule, and no disrespect to his career, but he's no Messi.

TL;DR : MMA isn't, and will never be nearly as popular as football.

That being said, MMA totally rules, and it's progressing at a steady pace IMO. It's still a young sport, and I find it exciting to see it evolving.

Eff him and his freakshow. Oh and eff that dork magnet called Powerslap too…

We all know that was a delusional thing to say. MMA is not family friendly and it’s very nature of violence is a turn off to many people. For those reasons, it will always remain relatively niche compared to major league sports.

Yep. Boxing people had the same issue but were smart enough to market their sport as sophisticated, "sweet science" to appeal to the masses and get people to focus on the technical aspect rather than brutality and braindamage. Meanwhile we have Dana being a powerdrunk loudmouth without any class trying to emulate WWE instead of a real sport like boxing and handing out BMF belts.

The UFC and MMA as a whole has grown at a very rapid pace consideriring how young it is, but never in a million years is it getting anywhere near soccer. Dana is ignorant AF about the sheer scale of soccer to entertain such a ridiculous thought.

Pretty much every American seems to be ignorant about this. NFL, NBA and so on are completely irrelevant outside US in comparison to football.
