PSG Reportedly Offer Kylian Mbappe Highest Ever $1.1 Billion ‘Lifetime Contract’

Paris Saint-Germain have made Kylian Mbappe a 10-year, €1 billion ($1.11 billion) offer to extend his current deal according to a Defensa Central report carried by SPORT.

If accepted by the 24-year-old currently linked with a potential move to Real Madrid, it would be the highest-paid sports contract of all time and provide the Frenchman with a strong chance of topping Forbes' list of The World's Highest-Paid Athletes each year for the forseeable future.

Mbappe looked close to joining the La Liga giants ahead of last season as the five-year terms he agreed when arriving from Monaco in 2017 neared expiry.

At the last minute, however, the Russia 2018 winner ditched Real Madrid president Florentino Perez at the altar and put pen to paper on an extension at the Parc des Princes.

"If accepted"

how high are athlete contracts going to go?

lmao my childhood bud is a decent soccer player who played for NYCFC. No one would ask for an autograph or pic if he’s walking in the city. Made $2 million a year with endorsements, etc.

“According to sources, Thiago Santos might receive $22,000 in sponsorship in addition to his normal pay of $120,000. Jamahal Hill, on the other hand, might make $110,000 as a base salary and an additional $10,000 through sponsorship.” What a joke.

bargain for more money

it's that simple. otherwise fight and don't complain about it

You can't compare across sports. There are many many factors to consider. NFL is bigger than NBA, but top players pay is pretty close. NBA has much smaller rosters and have to play a ton of games. Soccer is HUGE worldwide just can not blindly compare salaries between sports

you can't

but just for the record even players in third string football (or "soccer") leagues around the world make more money than most mma fighters. and they should because, frankly it is much more competitive to be a pro athlete in one of the major sports, than to be a pro fighter. and there is a much larger market in the major sports

The dang Soccer field is as big as a state and they score like one goal per year, lol.
Bet your life savings on a game and you will see how excited you would get when the team you bet on scores that one goal, and you will see how fucking nervous and terrified you would get when the opponents are pushing offense on your teams side of the field and taking shots at your goal keeper. A goal in soccer is the equivalent of a knock down in boxing. Do you get excited when a basketball player scores 2 points?

There are single soccer teams which by valuation are way bigger then the whole UFC…

Let’s not even mention soccer’s viewerships, sponsorships, etc…

Dana perhaps meant bigger than soccer in the USA, which is also unlikely.

In Europe’s major nations, B league players earn hundreds of thousands per year, A league players usually are in the millions … and there are dozens of teams and thousands of players.

The pay isn’t close, nba contracts are guaranteed

Red card for calling the biggest sport on the planet "Soccer"

Football mate lol

I mean if you really wanna get technical you poms invented the word, don't blame anyone else for using it. Also considering more popular "Football" sports dominate the countries who use the term it makes plenty of sense.

I'll never understand why such a boring sport is so popular.
Me neither, can't stand the sport but each to their own I suppose.

I think you probably can, they just usually don't. Enzo Fernandez got an 8 year deal at Chelsea which is close enough.

I'm pretty sure 5 years with a 3 year extension clause is the official maximum. But maybe they'll find a loophole or something. I wouldn't be surprised.

Football is amazing, I guess it’s like religion in many parts of the world and we pick it up from a very young age. But I can definitely understand that there are many who just don’t like it. I have plenty of friends who just don’t give a shit about the sport or find it insufferable lol. The friends who despise football tell me that matches ending 0-0 and players crying over a girly foul are the 2 things they hate the most.

I feel like no game in any sport should be allowed to end in 0-0. No matter what it is, just keep playing until somebody scores.

And for something like soccer, where there's a lot of running (where dudes will tire out if it keeps going indefinitely), then end it with a 'sudden death' 1 v 1 shootout.

Basketball sucks. Lol

He meant in the US. No one in all of US even watches soccer

A fight promoter engaging in hyperbolic nonsense is far less of an evil than lazy 'demoter' Dana, constantly sh*tting on his own fighters, promoting different sports and stupid side gimmicks.

Promoter lies to grow the brand are better than promoter lies to constantly trash it.

We want the UFC to be worried about expansion even in the form of silly lies like this. Not just concerned with ruthlessly suppressing any threats to its existing control and profits.

with 14-18% of revenue going to the athletes, they would need to be 3x bigger lol
