The UFC is Dying

It peaked a long time ago, but its way too entrenched into the sporting landscape to "die" at this point.

I hear this whole "the UFC doesnt want to promote fighters anymore" thing and I dont get it at all tbh. Pretty much every year new names ascend to main eventer status. I'm sure the UFC wish they could create new Conors at will but thats now how it works.

*Not how it works

Anyone who watched the ufc in the late 90's to early 2000's knows what a "Dying UFC" looks like...

The current UFC is far from dying. We're getting cards almost every weekend. You're right that they don't put a lot of effort in promoting stars, they instead focus more on promoting the product or the company as a whole.

I think they saw what happens when you promote a fighter too hard in Conor McGregor. He became too rich and famous and out grew his need for the UFC.

The thing is, they actually know really well how to run a business. But anyway Dana can suck my dick.

We are all dying. It just takes a loooooooong time.

Honestly I think that it died with the sale of Zuffa's product to WME. I honestly believe that Endeavor doesn't give a shit about MMA and is trying to run it into the ground. Dana is more interested in power slap at this stage and probably could care less about the UFC.

The complete lack of promotion for high level fighters is disturbing. It's like they don't want anyone to stand out in any way.

DDP, Strickland, Prates, Rountree and a few others have star potential but I'm worried that they won't let them fight again because they don't want to have anyone become famous. Remember the Cédric Doumbé situation? Same story.

I honestly think the best thing to happen to the UFC would be if it went bankrupt and was bought by owners who actually know how to run a business.

Unfortunately, revenue and profits tell a completely different story. The UFC is banking and the next US TV deal will just hammer that point home more.

P.S.: Don't confuse long time fan of the UFC leaning more to the side of not caring as much after "x" amount of years to what the UFC is doing/how you feel about it today. Personally I don't seem to care as much as I did say back in 2008 or so. But I also understand the UFC is killing it right now as a business.

I know right? Endeavor investment group is only worth like $19 Billion. I wish they could figure out a good way to actually run a business and make money.........
You beat me to it lol.

The goal of running a corporation is profit, and these fuckers are raking in cash. One thing to not like them, but they clearly know how to run a business.

I haven't gotten a PPV in my home since they went to ESPN+. I used to drive to the next town over to watch them in a sports bar and pay a cover, but I'm not as young as I once was and the 30minute road trip at 1am to get back home and to bed before church the next morning got old so now I'm slowly losing touch more and more with the new crop of stars.

It's been dying since '93.

Sorry TS - you are misinformed. In 2023, the UFC had a record $1.3 billion in revenue, a 13% increase from 2022. In Q4 2023, the UFC made $282.8 million, which was higher than the $271.7 million it made in the same period in 2022.
Those numbers are complete fiction. People will be i jail soon IMO.
