The UFC is dead, and it’s no coming back

Fuck man even Bilal and Sean Brady had a striking match.
Hell yes. This org still kicks so much ass. I admit it's about watered down with the size of the roster, but understand why it turned into what it is now.

This weekends card is going to kick ass!

Changed? Of course. Dying? Highly unlikely any time soon. I'm not a fan of the shift in production & general brand tone but it's a business and I'm sure they've calculated this as the most effective route to growth. They want full mainstream sports acceptance & to corral people away from pro wrestling - that much is quite obvious. We'll see if that pans out.

We're back in the dark ages. Queue the shills bringing up irrelevant numbers

Its Dieded.

The UFC is bigger than ever specifically due to abandoning the 'sport' aspect that made it so awesome.

It's more lucrative to sell to pro wrestling fangirls in shithole states than to MMA fans. It's not going anywhere, especially now that Dana is laundering money for foreign entities.

Sick place to come announce ufc is dead bro. Even try that in an mma forum ?

It's not dead but it does feel like post-attitude era WWE where nothing seems to be clicking from a product quality standpoint

The UFC is dead, and I don’t think it’s coming back. I took a four-year break from watching, and now the company feels completely unrecognizable. It’s all about cage stalling—basically, Jon Fitch-style tactics dominating the sport. There's no personality left in the sport, and no there are strange people like Colby, but even machida had personality without talking too much

MMA always had a bit of a "trashier" vibe, but now it's just beyond belief. MMA fans have always been known for being more conservative, but it's gotten way worse—almost like it’s become a circus now. And don’t even get me started on the Trump-era, right-wing nonsense that's crept in. I've honestly seen influencers get treated better by the company than MMA legends. It’s a sad state. How can u create a star when the company comes first?
Just admit you hate trump and it bothers you so much he won you can’t watch anything that reminds you of him

The UFC had a chance to break fully into the mainstream sports world for good during COVID. Instead they took all the new fan interest for granted and pinched pennies by putting on watered down cards. Eventually the new fans left and now we still have these ass, watered down cards.

UFC/WME are the definition of penny-wise, pound foolish.

Grounded knees need to be legal. Grounded headbutts? They promote as real as it gets.

It won't die, but it will "reorganize."

I am dying to see the next deal the UFC will be offered, and I think that will be the best way to judge if the rumors are true (of consistently declined PPV buys).

I don't think anyone else will give the UFC guarantees on each PPV like ESPN if they have been selling poorly.

From a foreign perspective it comes across as weird. Other countries don't revere politicians and would likely boo the shit out of them.

It's become a mainstream sport, which means it will always be around in some form.

The UFC itself might change or even die in time, though I doubt it will happen any time soon. Like sports when they grow to this size, they are highly dependent on champions and stars, and you can't exactly manufacture those.

O'Malley was the closest thing to a modern champion star, so he's getting another shot. Other than that, things are pretty slender in the divisions.

I think the biggest issue is that the divisions are just bloated as is the sport. It makes it too hard to follow, since up and comers and contenders are sprawled over a gazillion cards that nobody except the most hardcore fan can follow; more and more I find myself not knowing or remembering who I am watching. It doesn't help that the presentation is so monotonous either.

They need better presentation, rivalry building and narratives.
