The TUF 20 Fantasy League - General Discussion & Analysis (Registered Players Only!!)

I wonder if this is the first time that "Fight of the Night" went to a fight on the UFC Fight Pass prelims (and hence a large fraction of the audience didn't see it).

It might be, but as the UFC continue to push Fight Pass, I think this digital distribution platform will get even more exciting matches in the future. They do want the hardcore fans who subscribes to Fight Pass to feel like we're getting our money worth, that means fights that worth logging on to see.

The UFC knows very well the VanZant/Curran and Doo Ho Choi's UFC debuts are something that many actual MMA fans looking forward to see, and they delivered as expected. I wouldn't be surprised if they soon will be promoted to Main Cards and bypass FS1 Prelims entirely like Juliana Lima vs. Nina Ansaroff at Fight Night 56.

Who knows, the Fight Pass Prelims segment might expand in size and get its own semi-prestigious "headliner" with a hefty paycheck in the near future for notable draws, something that the UFC have been doing for PPV Prelims for years (and Sherdoggers are just beginning to grasp).

There should be priorities. The first priority being Ah Man!
(Just kidding, Ah Man!)

Good, ballsy call on the submission. I feel like Esparza. The pressure is on. I don't want you guys training in the same thread as me.

As expected, the Week 10 picks are all over the place, from Daly by TKO/Dec to Penne by Sub/Dec. I love it :D

I don't. This week looks scary from up here.

So far we have the following picks:

Daly by TKO, Round 1
Daly by TKO, Round 2
Daly by Dec, Round 2
Daly by Dec, Round 3
Penne by Sub, Round 2
Penn by Dec, Round 2

There's no doubt about it, somebody is going to lose their spot in the Top 3 :D

this one is definitely scary! the poll has more than two thirds picking aisling, when i thought it would be pretty even.

also, i know bj penn has a history of competing in different weight classes, but this is getting ridiculous! :icon_chee

But none of those picks are by a front runner, are they? Last I checked, no front runner had made a prediction yet.

Personally, I 've had a hard time deciding which fighter to choose. Now I'm trying to figure the round and method.

i enjoyed juliana vs. joanna, but i like joanna so i was probably just happy to see her win.

yah same here, but there's definitely a difference in being happy for someone winning and a fight actually being "exciting"

and to me that fight was meh but to each his own. it was a better fight than the Claudia Lahdemaki fight

Just because it's more striking-oriented, the number of SW snoozers will be far and few in between compare to the grappling-heavy BW.

There are quite a few unranked BWs who have no business on PPV cards but keeps popping up, hopefully the incoming SW will rectify that after TUF 20 is done.

I also thought it would be even, consider how many people predicted earlier that Penne would make it to the Semi Finals. I guess that glaring weight advantage changed people's mind.

Make a bold statement and be unique, go with Round 1 Decision! :D

Other options to consider: Penne by KO or Daly by Sub!

Hey, Arkain is trying to be a bitch about me joining in the conversation even though I'm not a "registered player" so I just wanted to see if anyone else had a problem with me being here? If so I'll leave, but if not I'll just keep ignoring him. :D

Thanks

Get outta here snail!!!

Episode 10 preview

[YT]OVpZnUyPQvQ[/YT]

This preview opens by saying "with only three episodes left until the live finale..."
I think that count would be including the episode being previewed, would it not? If so that means only two episodes follow the Ais vs. Jessica fight.

That should be one episode for these two fights: Rose vs. Jo Jo, and Carla vs. Tecia.

And one episode for these two fights: Randa vs. (the winner of Rose vs Jo Jo), and (the winner of Carla vs. Tecia) vs. (the winner of Ais vs. Jessica).

Am I wrong?

Nobody likes salting the snail, but he gives you no choice!

That's exactly what I think will happen. Get ready for some double-features soon, folks!

Two months ago, most of us predicted that Rose/JoJo/Esparza/Torres will be in the Semis, with Penne as the Dark Horse, but thanks to the current bracket, there's a real possibility here that the underrated Randa Markos or Aisling Daly could swoop in and win it all after the Top 4 slaughter each other next week!

Longer episode #10 preview:

[YT]2UJffQ0Oba0[/YT]

sweet! it looks like both are taking and landing some good shots. pettis said in one of the previews that this one could be the best of the season so far...for whatever that's worth, and it could be edited from another fight for all we know. :icon_chee

it does look like there's a fair amount of action and a longer, more gritty fight probably favours aisling. we shall see in a couple of days! :)
