The Truth

And we all know what they say about lurker white belts too. They either say something very profound or are exposed as being as stupid as a newb white belt. If surviving a five round beating against a Cain that is on his game counts as being exposed then I don't know what to tell you.

Dude..you're a typical nutthugger. JDS was simply surviving. I re-watched the fight, and JDS looked even worse than I originally thought. I was anticipating him to be better. He offered ZERO offense ther than the "one-hit wonder" shot. It doesn't take more than a white belt to see the obvious.

He was exposed? How many HW's have the ability to follow the same gameplan as Velasquez? He pushed the pace and mixed in his TD's and strikes perfectly.

If Rampage wants to duck Tex, they should make him fight Vera. Rampage keeps saying nobody wants to stand with him, well.. there you go. If Rampage had trouble with Forrest's leg kicks, imagine what Vera would do to him.

Send Rampage out with a loss, give Vera a fight where he won't get wrestle fucked and can showcase his striking, and give him a big win to start the year with.

You don't see the obvious.

Cain hit JDS with a one hit wonder shot that changed the fight completely.

That's why JDS offered nothing. He took a flush shot in the jaw and went down, then took several bombs while trying to get up.
Cain is fast and strong, has vicious GnP, nobody would have been able to "offer offense" after that.

Next time you're at your gym, let your opponent punch you 8 times in the chin before training. Then try to go 4 rounds. See how you feel.

Moron.

He wasnt exposed by cains wrestling, he was exposed by his lack of desire to attack or to attempt to win the fight.

I understand cain is a better wrestler and he has to be cautious to defend the take downs , im not stupid... But whats the point in defending take downs and not throwing ? After round two he turned into a zombie and look completely defeated and was trying to land one punch , not even throwing combo's. Granted he had taken a bit of damage at the stage, ie zombie mode. But to say he was trying to win and it was just cains wrestling that exposed him isnt the case to me.. He looked mentally and physically defeated to me, cain walked through pretty much every punch he through.

He wasnt exposed in wrestling, he was exposed in mma... Thats what i was watching right ?

When you take a beating like JDS did in the first round... The only thing that can get you to the final bell is heart. The only thing that can keep you throwing punches, defending takedowns, and getting back up after being taken down is heart.

Lauzon showed heart, as well... And while he bled much more than JDS, he wasn't as concussed as Jr. in the opening stanza and only had 3 rounds to spread his stamina across.

The way I look at it is to consider the 1st round for JDS to be the equivalent of 4 or 5 rounds. Imagining rounds 2 through 5 as rounds 6 through 9 will, not only, allow you to appreciate Jr.'s effort a little more... But, it's probably a much more fair representation of the adversity he was fighting through.

I think Cain did an awesome job and he deserves the belt... But I definitely thought JDS showed heart, toughness, and an unbreakable confidence... Which are things that he hasn't been forced to... Or been in a tough enough fight to provided the opportunity to show in the past.

I agree that the card wasn't one I would pick to introduce someone to the sport... But I think some of the fighters proved more in defeat than they ever could have in victory.

I agree with you TS, i made a similar thread about this.

I don't think he was "exposed" at all as you call it. He is arguably still the best in the division. He just looked gassed to me and he took a HUGE shot in the first which probably put him on queer street for at least another round after that. Cain just has a ridiculous pace. JDS was forced to grapple with Cain from the get go. Name me one fighter besides Cain or Cormier that could put that pace up against JDS?

JDS lost to her self-confidence ... No more excuses or try to get alien theories, was beaten ...

Next ...

I think JDS got rocked first...and at this weight class that means the difference between winning and losing.

Especially between these two very strong, very accurate punchers.

Yeah, exposed. He walked around like the number one fighter in the HW division, when Cain just proved to us all that JDS is only in the top 2.

exposed? how was he exposed? he got beat by a terrific wrestler. are you saying he was exposed because Cain nulified his striking with his wrestling? doesn't seem very threadworthy

Cain nullified JDS's striking with his own striking. Wrestling was just a bonus. Cain was the one that had the fucked up face at the post fight conference, not Cain, ironically.

He grabbed the fence so many times it was sickening. Everytime he would get taken down he would grab the fence, and miraculous stay up. not sure how many times Herb had to pry his fingers off the fence...it was ridiculous.

JDS needs to be fined for that
