I've probably said this before in these discussions, but it's amazing the world building that is packed into just a few minutes. You get such a small window into that future world, and it's so compelling they've been able to put the back of the franchise on it for decades. Even after all the disappointments people still go see these movies, because in the back of their mind they're thinking this time that desolate future world will be fully realized.
That's the ultimate leave them wanting more. Terminator is somehow simultaneously the perfect film balanced in every way, but it also sparks the imagination and leaves you hungry to see more of that world. Annnnnd to bring it back full circle all of that is because of the performance of Michael Biehn.
