Yeah just the first five seconds of where this clip is cued shows how much he put into Reese. Exhausted, spent, you can see that he knows the kid doesn't really get the magnitude of what's going on, but he'll still play war the kid for half a second but not raise the gun enough to create danger. That's five seconds with no lines.

Meanwhile in Genisys...

Lol What a stupid image, even for a bullshit promo pic. Why did they shop in the muzzle flash?

He is not even looking where he is firing and from the angle he is shooting into the ground.

Reminds me of the old GI Joe toy box art with every gun firing in all directions at once.

Brad Fiedel was also overlooked for awards.
That heavy synthwave sound really aged so well. Always liked it and was glad when it came all the way back around in the music scene. Really one of the more fun things about consuming media throughout the years, seeing concepts come back again with a new twist or creative voice behind them.

Know where I can buy one of those, asking for a friend.

Never cared for either, but T2 is the best action/sci-fi movie ever

I love both movies, idk how to choose. Michael Biehn is just perfect as Kyle Reese.

so much decsisioning.
love them both/all
the cerebral aspect of matrix is really appealing, after the first and certainly after the second,
that began to wane.
terminator similarly began to lose specialness after 1 and 2, Cameron's directing.

Terminator and it isn't close.

Just a better movie than The Matrix. The tension, the characters, the editing and pacing.

Keep in mind the budget for Terminator was tiny compared to the Matrix. We are talking a tenth of the budget.

The fact that Terminator still holds up is a testament to Cameron's genius.
Agreed. 90% of the movie is better than it would be today

The slightly grainy/distorated picture and lack of lighting makes it creeper and more realisitc. Same movie filmed in 2019 they would make it too polished, have too many forced special effects, and too much clean studio lighting.

Yeah I think T2 is pretty bland compared to the first one and its killer aesthetic, and that the T-800 is way, way better as a heel too

Matrix is a lot of fun but I vote T1

With you here, T2 was miles over and above the first one. I got to do the 4D experience of it at Universal Studios, it was really cool and I'm going back about 15 years...imagine what they could do now.

I loved all of The Matrix movies, bit scared about the next one in case it sucks.

There's a new Matrix movie coming?

Yeah, it was being filmed before Covid as I remember.

I remember seeing rumors about it, I think. Never really considered as an actual project. Is/was it gonna be a prequel?

Don't recall, just hope it's treated in the same way as the previous 3. Keanu was brilliant.

It's just so good. The dark and gritty look. Little details like the shouts of cops in the background "gunshots!" "is it terrorists?!"

The quick cuts back and forth that barely give you time to process what you're seeing. Visceral, understated, impactful. No excess cgi or over the top blood spatters.

Terminator by arm bar. Evil Arnold is the GOAT Arnold.

I originally chose The Matrix, but upon further consideration changed my vote to T1.

T1 is just an incredibly moody, dense masterpiece.

The Matrix, with all its flash and pizzazz, is too clean.

Tough choice and it's close but I pick The Matrix because of the beginning and ending scenes. Two of the greatest movie scenes ever.

Matrix for me, but that's not surprising considering it's my favorite Sci-fi trilogy of all time.
