The superfight went to Diaz

Just like BJ Penn fans, Diaz isn't favored here and has lost every important fight he has been in. But after he loses people will talk about him being a warrior for some reason.

Well, he is willing to fight Anderson. That makes him at least as much of a warrior as Travis Lutter.

He didn't seem to have a problem "tainting" his legacy by getting a gifted decision and ducking a rematch.

BJ Penn fan by sig. What a shock.

Hendricks in sig. Another shock. Maybe Hendricks should have showed up for the 5th round if he wanted to win the belt (a lesson he learned apparently when he shot for the takedown against Lawler).

lol sure, buddy.

When was the last time a WW moved up to fight Anderson f Silva. If it's guaranteed money, why doesn't everybody do it.

How is a fight between two guys that have both lost their last two title fights a F'N Superfight? What a joke of a statement. This is no damn Superfight. It is a fight between a former MW champ against a guy who has never beaten a top 5 WW in his career.

In a follow up- the Diaz lovers should answer my question. The guy got dominated by GSP, has never beaten a top 5 WW, and the fight with Anderson is supposed to be a Superfight (lol). Diaz will get pummeled by Anderson and will probably go back to Stockton for the next year , only to come back when he needs more money.

you wouldn't consider Fedor vs JDS a superfight? they have both lost at some point but are not champions. Maybe your definition of superfight needs to be refined.

GOLDIE: Joe, Nick Diaz is the Michael Jordan of taking hopeless fights for the money.
ROGAN: No, he isn't.
GOLDIE: ...the Larry Bird?
ROGAN: No.
GOLDIE: The Travis Lutter?
ROGAN: Maybe the Bob Sapp.

A fight between two titleholders, not a guy on the decline against someone who hasn't won an important fight?

Do people really think that Silva is now some "toned down version" because of the shin? Seriously.... i wanted Anderson to lose. now i hope he comes back, wipes out Diaz, and then proceeds to take the belt back.

The fights with Wiedman left a lot to be desired. Silva is not done.

Think for a second ... if hitting in the back of the neck is allowed ... so is biting.

Grappling is the last thing you want to do if in a street fight with someone who is willing to go all out.

Also there are more counters to Takedowns in street fights like elbows to the spine and back of the head.

MMA rules HELP wrestlers ...

GSP has the ability to bite too, and the way he combines striking and takedowns you don't get the opportunity to elbow his spine. Once he gets on top and starts doing elbows and Diaz turns his head it's over

The rules helped Diaz more than they help GSP.

GSP hesitated all this time and never had the intention of fighting the spider without like a '3 years' preparation or whatever, lol.

Diaz accepted. We all know who's the real warrior at 170 lbs.

Silva vs Diaz is a superfight?

Silva is a -400 and Diaz is a +300 in the odds for the fight.

Those aren't "superfight" odds.

Miocic vs Maldonaldo was the greatest "superfight" of all time.

Neither of those men are 'marquee' fighters in their respective divisions. They are not former champions, PPV stars, or really, anything.

Diaz and Silva are both guys who've sold better than nearly all their peers on PPV. There is literally a single handful of active guys in the sport who have headlined a million-buy PPV, and these are two of them.

'More of a "fun fight" or a "test fight for Anderson" than a "super fight".

Decline a guy on a 17 fight win streak is different to accepting a guy on a two figt skid.

And Diaz just wants his pay day, this is how he gets his pay day.

GSP was ready, Anderson blew it at UFC 112.

GSP dodged a bullet.

If Dana thought GSP could have beat Anderson, he absolutely would have made that fight after 112, as pissed as he was at Silva.

This is a HUGE payday for Diaz to fight Anderson. But for GSP, every fight was a huge payday. GSP doesn't need the money as much as Diaz

... a guy who's never held a title in a major promotion

So WEC and Strikeforce were not major promotions?
