GSP hesitated all this time and never had the intention of fighting the spider without like a '3 years' preparation or whatever, lol.

Diaz accepted. We all know who's the real warrior at 170 lbs.

Wouldn't really call Diaz/Silva a super fight. An awesome fight for sure, but not super fight.

Perhaps, he didn't want to go toe-to-toe with pre-Weidman Anderson who was absolutely indestructible, with granite chin and had huge winning streak.

True, Nick Diaz is getting the cracked chin and shin version. He has a chance.

It's not a superfight.

These. A fight between one of the three greatest fighters of all time, and a guy who's never held a title in a major promotion, is not a superfight.

GSP was scared, you can't really blame him. Nick is getting annihilated.

Or maybe GSP had more to lose than someone who was retired.

This is a cakewalk for Diaz against any version of Anderson

Neither one of these guys would have a great chance versus Silva.

He's just too big, rangey, and complete of a striker for either of them.

That being said, GSP's MMA wrestling would at least give him SOMEWHAT of a better chance than Diaz, who has virtually ZERO wrestling capabilities.

GSP was scared of losing and tainting his legacy, Nick just likes to fight big names he doesn't care

Well, Diaz was the champ of Strikeforce, but I mean thats still not enough to call this a superfight considering how Diaz record in the UFC.

I'll just imagine in my mind that it is GSP fighting Silva instead of Diaz. When Diaz gives Anderson the middle finger, I'll pretend in my mind it is Georges giving Anderson thumbs up.

Not a superfight.

That being said, just as anyone paying attention knows that GSP is a better fighter than Diaz, they know that Diaz has bigger balls.

Anderson is old and has a cracked chin and shin. Diaz can take this as long as he doesn't show up high on bong hits and lay on the ground the first 2 rounds like he did against GSP.

Guys like Nick and BJ and a handful of others have the warrior mentality and wanted to test themselves at extreme levels. I applaud that and really its a big part of their attraction.

I don't think that should take away from Georges though. There is exactly zero shame in wanting to fight the toughest guys in your own division. I thought Hendricks clearly beat Georges and perhaps he wouldn't want to end his career on a controversial split decision, but thats another story.

The dude walked away from the sport a multimillionaire many times over with his brain still completely intact. He walked off as one of the top 3 draws in the history of the sport. Hard to cast doubt on that type of wildly successful career.

GSP had way more to lose than Diaz. He'd be a moron to take a fight with a guy way bigger than him if he doesn't have to

Are you the official arbiter of 'superfight' declaration?

In my opinion, a superfight is designated by two marquee fighters from different divisions fighting. It doesn't matter if one guy moves up, down, or a catch weight, and it certainly doesn't matter if there is a belt on the line.

Big names in a combat sport who would otherwise not collide in their respective divisions make for a superfight.

Diaz has nothing to lose. Except some brain function.
