Television The Star Trek Thread V6.0

I think it's possible its flashbacks he's having, but I think Data will be back and alive. One of the main cast numbers is supposedly a cybernetics researcher, who has a past with Picard. Pretty sure she will have a lot to do with Data's story. I almost think it's going to be Data trying to console and council Picard and not the other way around. Picard is scared for letting Data, whom he considers to almost be like a son, die for his behalf. Brent also said in an interview, he's in multiple episodes, throughout the season.

Data is one of the most beloved characters in all of Star Trek, and I'm pretty sure they want him back alive. Much easier to make and sell content and merchandise, if the character is alive. Countless novels and videos games have gone deep into bringing data back, because he's such an important character, and they left it set up for him to return. That was going to be an important plot of ST 11, but sadly Nemesis killed the TNG films.

He isnt going to be a one and done appearance. He's going to follow Picard and show up and talk to him whenever.

Stewart made reference that picard wasn't well in the comic con panel.

This is a symptom.

But the main reason he isn't back on the regular is because de aging ain't cheap. They will pick their shots

It is an interesting idea for sure. My thought was that he was trying to get Data back but ultimately failed (i.e. Data scenes would only be flashbacks shortly after Nemesis), which added to his frustration.

Or the ultimate mind fuck... Picard is able to bring Data back, but then Data is killed again on the great rescue armada.

Cliffs: Picard is gonna fail because too geeky.
Ridiculous. They are going to have flashbacks and explain what's happening for new fans. Probably the most hardcore trekkie thing they did, was the addition of Hugh, since he was only in 3 episodes.

95% of the reviews of trailer have been positive the negative ones seem to be either people who don't know anything about star trek, or are the modern trek haters, who claim its nothing but SJW or liberal politics. Hell I was one reviewer said it was horrible, because they are sure they showed every meaningful event in the show, and it shouldn't have been aired at comic con, because it not fair, for fans going to Star trek Las Vegas next month. Gotta have something to bitch about I suppose

Got my Blu Ray of, What we left behind" yesterday in the mail. If anyone else ordered it, Benin the lookout. General public can buy it on 8-6

Mine is in transit and expected to arrive Saturday.
Personally packed By Ira Steven Behr. I watched it again last night, and it really is a great documentary. The HD restoration is amazing. They had the space battle for Cardassia in its entirety, in full glorious HD, and I stunned how great it looked. I guess alot of the CGI ships models were overbuilt back in the day, so they were able to remaster in HD fairly easy. It is a time-consuming process though, which was part of the reason why the Documentary took longer to produce, but totally worth the wait.

I just watched it. Really enjoyed it. I found it particularly interesting that there was real tension between Nana Visitor and Marc Alaimo. I wonder what the chances are that we will get to see a reunion season.

That writer's room season 8 is such a tease. Sadly I'm pretty sure Avery brooks is pretty much retired at this point. I heard he refuses to do cons anymore, and hasn't acted in anything in a long time. There was a rumor about a year he had some health issues, but nothing confirmed. Never say never, I know I'd love to see it.

So Star Trek Las Vegas is in a few weeks, which is be all end all of the conventions. Anson Mount has just been announced to be attending, as will Ethan Peck, Rebecca Roman. I'm thinking 90% chance they will announce Star Trek: Pike. I've also read a rumor that the series may be named Star Trek: 1701

1701 of course, is the registry number for the USS Enterprise.

Micheal Chabon announced that he wrote one of the upcoming short treks. His will feature Number one, greeting a newly assigned Ensign Spock onto the Enterprise. As they ride the turbo lift, they get stuck. Another will feature captain Pike and his life on the Enterprise. a Thrid on the Enterprise will be a horroresque episode, where the ship is overtaken by tribbles. Two of the short treks will be Animated, in vastly different styles, and the final episode will be a lead into Picard, titled, The Children of Mars. The Roman god Mars has two children, named Romulus and Remus. So it could be very interesting for the Picard Series.

Here's a nice pic, of the full main cast of Picard.(minus Jeri Ryan)

Yes. The restoration was insane. The best thing in the Star Trek universe was the war with the Dominion. We had never seen anything like it in Star Trek. The HD restoration really brought it out.

I got all the way through DSC, both seasons. I can give a full, detailed review of both seasons if anyone is interested but I tend to agree with this guy somewhat. The anti-cracker ass cracker agenda is much more apparent in S1 than S2 but it does continue to permeate through both seasons.

I'd rank DSC below VOY and ENT. Some good things, lots of bad.

1. TNG
2. DS9
3. VOY
4. ENT
5. DSC
6. TOS

TOS movies are way better than the show. TOS is so dated and low budget it makes the fan fiction look like Spielberg.

I agree, and I didn't need to watch more than the first couple episodes to know it. I won't watch a single episode more because I do not want to contribute to their ratings. I hope they don't inject any nonsense into the Picard series, because based on what I have seen so far I might give it a chance.

Absolutely. I feel every ST fan owes Stewart and his masterful character Picard at least a chance. Picard dominates all the best moments of the entire franchise.
