Sadly, the trailer also says 'early 2020' (they had repeatedly stated a 2019 launch), but it is much more important they get this right than they get it early.

Yeah I noticed that too. It's funny they actually start filming the final episodes for the season next week. I think it had more to do, with CBS all access wanting to have new Star trek, playing all year. So If it starts in January 2020, that ensures they have the time to make to make sure DSC season 3 is ready to go, right when Picard ends, and also give the animators the time with lower decks.
 
So I'm guessing that the girl who comes to Picard is his daughter, who was created by the Borg, or less likely from, Shinzon, and is maybe half Romulan? I think she's related to the Borg, with 7of9 and hugh being included.

Good call.

I think it is time to re-read the Countdown comic. IIRC the Narada was somehow supposed to be infused with Borg technology.

Yes it was. That was the only reason the Enterprise E had trouble with it. Worf was nearly killed by a Borg octopus thing, inside the ship.

Cool, but.

Already it's saddled with the old characters. Makes me worry, because it's already a fan service orgasm, and burdening a "new" show with old characters hampers the story IMO.

7 of 9, and Data, with Picard, 3 of my fav next gen era characters. I like the idea that the girl is some kind of Picard/Borg offspring. They really need to develop new characters. I hope this is awesome!

Is the new star trek any good? Should I pay for CBS?

True. They could kick off Picard in January/February with 10 episodes, then Discovery season 3 in May/June and have Lower Decks in Q3/4-2020.

The Picard trailer looks very promising. Looks like they produce enough beef in terms of universe building for a 2400s series if they want to do that at some point.
 


Around 5 mins in, Spiner appears confirm that it is B4 in the drawer. That final scene also feels very off imo, it has pretty much a Westworld vibe. I don't think that is Data, maybe Picard tried to get him back but failed.
