Television The Star Trek Thread V6.0

I thought Enterprise was too dull with the limited equipment.
And I consider Discovery more along the lines of the recent movies, which I didn't like.

For me, the movie Nemesis was the last film or show I liked.

And I like Picard so far, let's where they take it.
For myself, the TNG films don't exist.
It took me until years later to appreciate Ent. It has some redeeming qualities. T'pol is an interesting character and Archer's dog is cool. He's a good captain also.

I liked ENT except for season 3

Season 3 they tried to do a whole season story arc that was way too long and annoying - setting up Archer to save the world ffs

They took a show with stand alone episodes to a season 3 26 parter back to normal again wtf

I think it was studio pressure and they planned to have that be a later story arc.
There were some good eps and some ridiculous ones. I think they did the best mirror universe (which I don't like much of) episode of all the series.

I was bummed that the whole ENT temporal civil war storyline never panned out.

What do you mean ?
First contact was fun, Generations was alright but inception was mwah.
None of them captured the tone of the series. It's like they didn't make the films for fans of the show.
They were just dumb action movies for the most part and all films had serious deficiencies.

Was RLM wrong about the Federation turning into racist xenophobic assholes?

Also, they were pretty spot on about Picard and Data pretty much having no relationship

That's the bulk of what they complained about during the video

Fair review and Fair video

No they don't and you clearly don't watch.
I didn't think it was as spot on as usual, but yeah they still backed up every criticism. Plus they enjoy plenty of main stream stuff. The only thing that I am certain of going into one of their reviews is that the opinion is honest.

I've never detected any sign of falseness.
I started watching their content not long after the Plinkett Prequels and TNG film reviews. Because Mike (and especially Rich, obviously) agrees with me about what makes ST good.

I adored the episode. It felt like Trek to me, but more like a Trek movie, not a show (ex. Generations).

When you've got Michael Chabon & Akiva Goldsman co-writing with Alex Kurtzman producing, and stars like Stewart and Spiner showing up...it's hardly surprising. Fingers crossed they can maintain.

Watching the original TNG pilot Encounter at Farpoint.
Because that's Star Trek.

It's cheese, but not really as bad as I recall.

There's a partial line of Picard dialogue he delivers without moving his lips.

I'm with ya buddy
I'm gonna see where it goes but the RLM review threw in my face how many things were bothering me consciously and unconsciously that I was letting go in the name of optimism. Mike's memory of TNG is amazing, lol.

Kinda kills the whole argument of anyone who says that everyone who doesn't like something went in not wanting to like it. Opposite for me if anything.

Maybe my memory about that isn't good, I just remember i was disappointed with ENT
They abandoned it due to the studio not liking it. Eventually it was suppose to be revieled that Archer in the future, is the one who was controlling the suliban and alter the temporal war
