The Simpsons Was Always Overrated as Hell.

The first 3-5 seasons of family guy were legit hilarious almost every episode. At first I found the Simpson's meh but after watching a bunch of old reruns found what made it appealing to people, though prime for prime family guy is just the funnier show.

Season's 3 to 6 were Wire-like in the quality of the writing. It took a sledgehammer to so many cultural touchstones (religion, capitalism, politics, policing, authority) and made you laugh at the same time.

It should have finished years ago, but it's best has been streets ahead of any other animated show.

Prime Simpsons was not only smarter than Family Guy but it was more heartfelt. Better comedy too, the writing was just simply better.
