The Rise and Fall Of Johny Hendricks, What Happened?

BWSNrxs.jpg

Some loss of the work ethic there.

Well let's see...

He refused to go through the testing that GSP went through. And he looked good. He lost the fight, but he looked good.

Since then testing has changed and he is not able to just blow it off. He hasn't looked good at all.

It's not an accusation. But a completely legit observation.

Or maybe he just really loves food. To the point where it puts his mma career in peril.

You tell me.

Going 70% in big fights and never really evolving that much. Add in the fact that he's clearly not disciplined enough to stick to a proper diet and cut weight properly and you've got most ingredients for a let down.

Robbie stuffed his takedowns so much in their fight that he lost all the confidence to take anyone down. He couldn't take Thompson nor Gastelum down and that's why he lost.

He's the same that he's always been minus the ko power

I think his weight issue and the weight cut messing up his mentality. He's still good but always look drained and like on drugs.

What the hell happened to this guy?

Is it a classic story of only relying on his big punch?

Is it just his weight issues?

How did he rise to the championship and now is pretty mediocre?

Is it the competition is just so good now?

Usada happened. Gsp happened. Hendricks throwing over hands for five rds full power and not tired in the least after 25min should raise eye brows.

Usada comes in and magically stops performing well? He lost to Condit. Took a robbery due to hype and has been exposed

Brown fight

I think this is the last thing that I would think about. Hendricks was strong like a HW, explosive, his striking looked good against Lawler, could finish anyone with one punch, and he beat GSP in the wrestling.

Now everything doesn't look the same. I would say that having no one to train isn't a good thing either.

I hate accusing people but he just looks so small and deflated post USADA. Maybe it's his diet and he lost muscle mass. I don't know.

At any rate I always laugh when people say he should move up to MW. You kidding me? The guy can EASILY make lightweight if he kept even a remotely healthy wieight between fights. There is no reason a 5'9" man should weigh 200 pounds ever unless maybe he's a hardcore professional roided up body builder

USADA but more importantly redneck cookouts.

He didnt got the fries, that was what took his soul.

I bet on fights and the USADA thing is changing who is good and who is not. Holly Holm got away with it when she fought in Australia, not here in the states. Pettis, Holm, Hendricks, RDA, the list will continue

Holm hasnt looked one bit different imo, its the style of their rivals what changed imo.

Considering it is widely considered that your KO punch is the absolute last thing to go... H- Bomb, baaaahhh.

What's the reason for this ?

This is stupid. Holly hasn't changed at all since she got to the UFC. She just didn't have Ronda running full speed into her fists, all her other UFC fights have been mediocre decisions or she got choked out.

RDA has fought 3 times under USADA and looked great except for getting cracked in his last fight in the first round.
