The REAL reason Khabib retired...

I really appreciate you, brother.

And I'm not one to be hard headed enough to think my opinions can't be wrong.

Honestly, after talking to a lot of Khabib Muslim supporters, I'm starting to believe there's more to it. They have very strong beliefs and discipline.

Khabib is a man of integrity, IMO, and I aspire to be as dedicated to my beliefs as he is his own.

I'm a big Conor fan, but I'd tell my children to emulate Khabib if I had to choose between the two. As a man that's struggled in the past with alcohol, I respect Khabib so much for never touching the stuff. I've been sober for years, but alcohol among other substances ruined a large period of my life.

One last thing - I had completely forgotten about the controversy about Khabib's last weigh-in.

Was he overweight? Yeah probably but not by much, a quarter pound at most, and he would have had two hours to cut that little bit. It wasn't like the recent cases of fighters being three or four pounds over.

Khabib didn't look like he had a bad weight cut, he just looked like he needed a bit more time in the sauna and he would have been fine. It wasn't a case that his organs were shutting down, again.

I'm thinking the more likely reason is, rather than 'he just can't make the weight' is motivation, related to the death of his father. Very few fighters have their own father as their coach, and we can imagine how bad a fighter would take it if their coach died, so we can only imagine how much worse a fighter would take it if their coach & father died.

The sauna is the worst part of training camp, but not only because of the stress on the body, but because of the isolation. There's nothing in a sauna but heat and your own thoughts.

For fighter that just lost his father & coach, that 12+ hours in a sauna before a weigh-in must be torture.

Win or lose, fighting McGregor either sheds years off your life, or leaves you mentally scarred for life. Smart move fleeing.

Lol I'm a big Conor fan, but Khabib beats him 10/10.

But you're right that it's stressful because Conor will take any avenue to get in an opponents head; Khabib wanted to hurt him bad.

That's one time Conor should've taken a quieter approach, but his job is to sell PPVs and he did that aspect of his job really well.

Khabib posted a video him being wheighed in backstage minutes before, he was ready to go. DC mentioned that too. He made weight, just because you want to interprete it the way you want and believe what you want, not what you see, doesnt change the fact that he made weight. And Mike Dolce's video 'proving' that khabib didint make weight even though he was not there means nothing. But he thinks this is "fishy" so he's right, lol.
So a video of him being weighed by his 'Team" Backstage is legit. While on the camera with real scales is fake. Lmao. Keep drinking the khabigkoolaid.

Brendan Schaub also starts with 'I'm a big Khabib fan'.
The rest of his conversation is to bash him.
Brendan Schaub is such a huge fan of Khabib that he always roots for his opponent. What a fan.<Lmaoo>

Just say you don't like Khabib. It's ok. It's better to be honest. You have never rooted for Khabib in a fight. It's ok. You are a Conor fan like Brendan Schaub.
I'm not saying you hate Khabib. Please don't be a Brendan Schaub. You are not a Khabib fan. You always want his opponents to win. That's ok. We all have our preferences.
I'm not a Conrat fan and I root for all his opponents.
People are going to call you a Brendan Schaub. Be carefull.:D

It doesn't matter how much someone cuts weight. Walk around weight is irrelevant. Cejudo can walk around at 230 if he wants. That doesn't make him a heavyweight.
The weight in trainingcamp is what matter. How much do you weigh if you are in good athletic condition.

You believe these stories of Covington? He is much bigger than Poirier. His legs are double the size of Poirier. His frame is bigger.
If Covington could have made weight for lightweight. He would have gone down.
Even Masvidal couldn't make weight.
Everyone suffers from making weight.
They all want to cut as much as possible to be not smaller than the opponents on fight day.

I suppose you could question his ability to cut weight, but you can't call him a weight bully because he's not a huge LW.
There's a million threads on this. His in cage weight is no more than the people he's fighting. Who cares if he gets fat in between fights.

People used to call Anderson Silva a weight bully as well because he would balloon up to almost 230lbs in between fights. Well, when he stepped into that cage, he weighed no more than most of the guys he was fighting, so it's a stupid angle.

These threads are like beating a dead horse, but here I am.

I deleted my previous post to you.

I forced myself to read all of that and now I like you.

I don't know why, but I like you.

Funny thing is that Usman is way bigger than all the WW fighters but there's nowhere near the same amount of topics about that...Same thing with Dustin. He was virtually identical sizewise as Khabib on their fight night..

Agreed.

DP and Usman are big cutters.

Khabib looked at the list of 170's.... and knew his record was in huge jeopardy.

Usman and Covington would trash Khabib.

Burns, Edwards, Luque would at minimum have even odds.

Khabib moving up = Khabib losing.
How the hell would Colby beat Khabib? No KO power, his BJJ is almost non existent to pull out a submisson, and lacks the size to power through Khabib's takedown. Usman may have presented problems cause of his power right hand and fantastic takedown defence..

100% I agree he has trouble cutting weight and he does get to 200 pounds off camp but its all fat. Its not like his frame is huge and he fits the WW frame..His reach and height are actually perfect for LW but because he gets fat people think its 200 pounds of muscle and frame weight which just shows how shallow some of these so called mma fans are...

1k views, not bad, everyones gotta start somewhere

- shave before doing these videos, or go full beard or goatee
- for youtube shoot in landscape not portrait
- sit inside preferably at a desk with neutral background, you don't want to deal with outdoors sounds, then you can slowly upgrade your situation, mics, lighting, etc
- don't dox yourself on sherdog (i guess too late for that)

positives:
- short and to the point
- vid title is good for getting some hits

All time record for title defenses at 155, finishes in defenses at 155, and several other records in the UFC were among those goals and he did that

His UFC career was wrought with injuries, missed fights, missed weight, huge periods of inactivity and at last a few final good fights once he got in the title picture and stopped sitting out and then...he threw in the towel in his prime after facing competition with lower winning percentages as his peers such as GSP. He had a great career but he was no Barry Sanders.

Thanks, I feel better now having denigrated Khabib for the day.
