The REAL reason Khabib retired...

Who do you guys think the real reason is?

I could be completely wrong, but I discuss it here.

I watched the entire video and I can't say I agree.

You're correct in the fact that Khabib used to have problems making weight, however after the last time he failed to make weight (you mentioned with his organs shutting down) he never had problems after that occasion.

I could be wrong, but based on my memory of how HUGE he was in his fights before that he probably lost around 5 pounds of muscle through alternative training methods by focusing on cardio/enduranace rather than weightlifting.

His last 4 fights, Laquinta - Gaethje, he wasn't quite as huge as he was prior, and he didn't look like he had great difficulty on the scale at the weigh-ins. In fact he looked no different than any other fighter with easily weightcuts.

So while I respect your opinion Khabib retired due to difficulty cutting weight, I have to disagree with it. There's not enough evidence to back it up and say its one of the bigger reasons why he retired.

And no fighter retires for 1 reason and there's always multiple reasons. Given how Khabib may be the most honest MMA fighter in the sport's history (probably to a fault), the overwhelming likelihood is that his main reason why for retiring is the passing of his father.

He committed to the fight against Gaethje, and he retired publicly, and remember how Dana didn't accept the retirement initially and TRIED to get Khabib to come back for a few fights? Can you imagine what Dana put down on the negotiating table just to get Khabib to cut down to 155 and destroy one opponent? Khabib turned it down each and every time.

Khabib isn't Chael Sonnen, Jon Jones, or whatever fighter trying to manipulate the public and Dana White for greater pay. I can't recall a single time in which he's lied about anything related to MMA or not related to MMA, he's (as far as I can tell) 100% honest.

So, acknowledging that, I don't see it as likely that he'd use the tragedy of his own father's death as the only public reason for retiring, when actually the reason for retiring is he 'can't' make the weightcut anymore.

Not bashing you by saying this doesn't pass the BS test.

BTW, big respect to you for making a video stating your case showing everyone you believe what you're saying.

Tired of people and their 10 followers making shit up to fit their little bias. Khabib retired because he achieved everything he wanted, and more, his dad died, he respects his parents opinions more than anything and he wanted to make ways for his team mates.

And the "he didnt make weight for justin" video is bs. Pretty funny some people still think a video from someone who wasnt even there is more relatable than people who were there, and the UFC's own weigh in protocol.

There is nothing to discuss, we all know the reasons why he retired, end of.
Lols. so the ufc protocol of being weighed unofficially behind closed doors is legit and getting on real scales in front of the camera and not making weight is fake. Lmao.

Khabib posted a video him being wheighed in backstage minutes before, he was ready to go. DC mentioned that too. He made weight, just because you want to interprete it the way you want and believe what you want, not what you see, doesnt change the fact that he made weight. And Mike Dolce's video 'proving' that khabib didint make weight even though he was not there means nothing. But he thinks this is "fishy" so he's right, lol.

Hey, sausage tits, you can start a thread without plugging your shitty youtube channel from the inside of your shitty car.

Its his opinion, but i dont agree, his father died,he was close to his father,i would believe what a guy himself feels rather than someone guessing something.

Lol when did he ever claim to want anything other the best lightweight? And id put Khabib over Andy. You can't ignore the lows of someone's career

I was replying to a sherbro, not khabib so I have no idea what khabib's goals were. Just sayin' he did not achieve a long epic title defence run.

These are literally the reasons why he retired. But the 1 main reason you're missing is because his mom told him to retire. In Islam, we're demanded to listen to our parents & respect our parents decisions.
Unlike Westerners that just tell their mom to "F*** OFF" when she tells them to do something.

TS needs to quit it with the conspiracy theories.

A part of me thinks this is correct as well.

I never thought posting this video would lead to the amount of dislikes it has compared to likes lol.

As a Christian, I have all respect for Muslims and they are absolutely behind Khabib 100%. They have strong beliefs and I have to respect their discipline.

I've grown to understand these "Khabib is a weight bully/he too scared to move up to WW" advocates.
That's what happens when you're so utterly dominant in your weight class most naysayers, short of admitting your prowess, awkwardly grasp for straws to temper or lessen how good you are.
One of said "straws" is pointing at something you have never done but never really had the need to (moving up a weight class), knowing you'll never be able to do it any longer (in this case, since you're retired).
If there's a clinical diagnosis for "coping", this has got to be one of the bigger tells.
Intellectually dishonest, self - serving, but all in all, a colossal, if unwitting, admission of another's undeniable greatness.

I consider Khabib the LW GOAT.

His dominance is undeniable.

It's just sad as a fan of greatness to see him retire when I think he had a legitimate opportunity to become the overall GOAT of fighting if he moved to 170.

I believe in his ability at 170.

I think the injuries that kept him out for two years, made him think of an exit plan when he was coming back. Plus it's just too good to retire on top. It almost never happens. That oppurtunity came knocking,he has the money, power and influence, had the title around his waist. Im sure his father's death hastened it though. It may have taken a big joy right out of it for him. My dad was my coach in gymnastics, and when he died,I stopped too.

At the end of the day, he did retire on top.

I'm not suggesting his decision wasn't brilliant and won't last for eternity. It was and it will.

But I think he would do well at 170.

Wild guess:

1) his dad died

2) he accomplished everything he wanted

3) him being champ blocked Islam from advancing

4) he had to fill in as head coach for all of his dad's athletes
Mostly agree. These fighters retire when they retire, and they don't owe the fans anything in that regard.. They don't owe them more fights... This is NOT golf or Tennis, you can legit die in that cage.

Damn bro, looking TST. HUGE! You can barely fit in the car. What are you like 6'8"? Gane and Francis are lucky you're too big to make 265. Bravo sherbro. Way to represent what a real sherbro looks like.

LMAO.

6'0 220 and not a good 220.

My man boobs are the worst. My son asked why can boys walk around without a shirt but girls can't and I told him because girls have boobs; he replied "but you have boobs."

Savage.

I really appreciate you, brother.

And I'm not one to be hard headed enough to think my opinions can't be wrong.

Honestly, after talking to a lot of Khabib Muslim supporters, I'm starting to believe there's more to it. They have very strong beliefs and discipline.

Khabib is a man of integrity, IMO, and I aspire to be as dedicated to my beliefs as he is his own.

I'm a big Conor fan, but I'd tell my children to emulate Khabib if I had to choose between the two. As a man that's struggled in the past with alcohol, I respect Khabib so much for never touching the stuff. I've been sober for years, but alcohol among other substances ruined a large period of my life.

Its his opinion, but i dont agree, his father died,he was close to his father,i would believe what a guy himself feels rather than someone guessing something.

This makes great sense as well.

My father died in a car accident when I was 7, so I have no idea how close a son and father can be. I have a 6 year old son and I love the hell out of him, but his love for me may be something that comes with age.
