The match-making has been completely horrible and whomever the UFC has signed for that Job should be released.

In the last 5 years the UFC only made 6 big name fights that actully excited the fans I repeat only 6 big fights in the last 5 years..

- Charles vs Makhachev card was stacked plus it was a massive fight
- Izzy vs Poatan 1 and 2 both massive fights
- DDP vs Khamzat
- Makhaachev vs JDM
- Jonas vs Gane

Lmao just look at UFC 323 it is not only watered down but completely trash. Merab vs Yan? Really? That is one of the biggest gimmie fights I can remember and not competitive at all and people were saying UFC paramount deal will change things yada yada but just take a look at UFC 324 and UFC 325 completely watered down cards.

UFC Qatar and UFC Vancouver were twice as stacked as the numbered cards like UFC 323, 324 and 325 that is when you realize the UFC is rapidly falling off a cliff when you have 2 fight night cards being twice as stacked as these numbered cards.

Yet ironically the UFC has never been more talent rich than now.

They already got their $7 billion from Paramount. There’s no motivation for them to make exciting fights anymore.

Imagine seeing Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira on an upcoming card and thinking the UFC is dying.

How bad does it have to get until the average Sherdogger can admit that it is, indeed, dying?

I can put together a better card then this..

UFC 324

Arman vs Paddy Interim title (Grudge match) Alot of emotions involved
Shavkat vs Morales
Sign Gable Stevenson and feed him some like Derek Lewis (Absolutely fun fight)
Sean Strickland vs Fluffy

The UFC has basically no incentive to make merit based matchmaking as they have no competitor and super casual are always gonna care more about guys like Paddy than Arman.
The fighters have basically no say either, what are Murphy or Evloev gonna do ? Leave like Mousassi after their contract ends ? The UFC is so dominant that people didn't care about the PFL even when they had the lineal heavyweight champion in Ngannou, letting go of some good but unpopular fighters won't hurt their numbers and fighters that want to be the best will stay in the UFC regardless.
Get ready for Volk vs Yair 2 next.

Sure when you ignore availability, negotiations, travel and visas, budget, long term goals, divisional plans and promotional timing.

You know, all the things grown ups have to think about while kiddos like you are crying that you can do better.

And the problem the UFC is experiencing is they don´t know who their stars actully are? But they are making the fatal mistake of trying to please a western white audience who just wanna see the best fight the best but Paddy is not a bigger star then Arman at this stage in their careers. Arman is the bigger name and star in comparison to paddy.

It is like feeding the NLF, NBA, Soccer and Baseball fans low quality players by catering to the white US audience which will backfire immediately. People just don´t care about mediocrity.

It is like forcing the UAE fanbase to watch two mediocre local fighters to cater to them? But that is a huge misunderstanding as nobody gives a shxt about 2 mediocre locals but rather they would watch two high class individuals in their profession and this is how boxing, sports and MMA generally works and the UFC is behind the game and don´t understand this simple fact and this is the same case in the US, they don´t have time to watch mediocrity whether local or not people are just drawn to high level entertainment

Pretty much, we live in a world where mediocrity reigns supreme because they have the most money, and greed has gotten so out of fucking control that people (even those with insane money) are shilling for anyone as long as there's enough zero's at the end of the check.

Apparently it’s only us high IQ sherdoggers that are really pissed about 324,325,and 326 main events … on my CBS sports app to check the scores of the game front page it says “UFC puts together incredible card , co main events for paramount + debut “ … I just did a double take I was highly disappointed with these garbage ‘big’ announcements today

The mediocrity only reigns in the UFC because of the Matchmakers are very conservative and old school plus they don´t know how to cater to the fans. Paddy is not a bigger Name then Arman at this point in their career as Arman is the much bigger star on social media, tiktok, twitter and everywhere and has more traffic aka just a bigger name overall.

You won´t see it in any other sport including Boxing..

The UFC fanbase is not conservative but the UFC matchmakers are old school and and they are a dying a breed

it dieded and it's already in the ground for a while and still here but deaded.

the UFC gave up on legitimate, ranking, meaningful match ups after the jon fitch debacle.

they're only in it for the money/maximum views, they've already made their money, so now we get watered down, what they think people will actually watch vs. who actually deserves it.

it's simple. their models show these fights do better to make more money/views.

It's a good argument, but Movsar and Murphy are trying to get booked against each other on the same card that neither of them are in the title shot they deserve more than the challenger. No missed issues for the promotion there, they just didn't want to try

I do unironically think things will improve over the next few years. But I think we're in for at least another mediocre six months? Year? The doomposters are right to say things have been stale, but it ebbs and flows. Need some generational churn here.
