The Ponies Thread (part 2)

I just saw the finish of that race, T. Holy shit. It's not every day when you get to see 3 horses at at the line together like that and within an inch of each other. That's a bit of a tough beat for your #3 horse, but at least they didn't post him as the 3rd place horse of the group which he easily could have been if the line was a foot shorter or longer. Silver lining and all that.

I was fired up Shark. Even with no real money on it I jumped up off the couch when they were coming down the stretch, haha. But yeah, the win would have been a nice bump for me in the contest.

So you're saying $5000 isn't "real money" to you, T. Must be nice to be rich like that. Haha. Nah, I know what you mean. I didn't make a bet today either. Actually I think I've only bet a handful of races at Remington since we started this contest despite putting a lot of work into them. For two reasons I guess. One is that I don't care for the track all that much. I don't dislike it much either mind you. Just seems like there is a pronounced bias most days. I'd be able to pick up on it if...Two is I'm usually laying around in bed or on the couch on my laptop at the time they run the races in the evening, and I can't get the live video feed on my OTB site to play the races on this thing. So I generally don't watch them live. If they had a live stream somewhere else then maybe I would play some of these, but they don't as far as I can see.

I don't think I've made a bet at any track since Wed actually. Mostly because this compiling of pace lines is quite time consuming, and there's not a lot of time (or energy) left over after getting the Remington races done. I have an 18 year-old son who is a computer nerd, so I might ask him to come up with some program that does the calculations for me and quickens the process.

Contest chances are money to me. Hey, I had the same feeling yesterday when Dallas came through for my NFL survivor pick. *whew*

I am an ex-software engineer. I will assist if needed. Hell, you rate that.

Haha, what I really mean is that I have about a snowball's chance in hell of winning this contest.

Do you have TVG Shark? That's how I watch, and they usually show most of the Remington races.

More importantly, the three-way battle for the prestigious Ultimate Sherdog ThoroEnduro Grand Championship is now separated by a mere $12.50 after 14 days of racing, with @Sharkey and @BluntTrauma21 sitting at a "virtually identical" 628th and 625th place respectively. This one is starting to heat up boys.

What!? Blunt is ahead of me now too!? Oh god. Nah, I knew that. Saw it last night and the only reason he didn't get further ahead of me is because I grabbed his reins like I said I would. He may have a nostril in front of me at the moment, but he's going no where without me. I'll kick him out of his irons if I have to even.

But in all seriousness, I'm not all that worried about where I am on the leaderboard right now. I like to have good days of course, and bad days like yesterday still suck a bit. But it's still way early. Don't think we really need to be worried until mid November when the cutoff for eliminations start happening. As long as I'm within striking distance by then and have saved enough lives I'll be happy.

I am glad to see both you and Blunt gain like 500 spots each in the last few days, though. That's pretty cool.

I appreciate that, BP. My son said he should be able to do it since he says it should be simple enough, but I'll keep you in mind if he's not able to. Thanks for that offer.

Oh and @t6p, I don't have TVG, no. I really don't need it either since I do have the means to watch all the races if I wanted to on this computer through my OTB site. I just choose not to in the evenings really just because I'm usually couped up in this room for the most of the day besides those days I get out to a job site. This computer shows the video of any race I want (even overseas races in AUS, UK, HK, etc), but it's my cheap laptop I use in the evening that can't for whatever reason.

You know this is stuff is fugazi [I've never typed that word before but it's apt here] when I'm ahead of Sharkey at any point in a tourney based on horse racing. I can cap the hell outta some boxing [went 5-0 last week all plus money as high as +450 but you know I'd never brag about such things] but I shouldn't be anywhere near the real sharps like yourself. Obv a random type tourney format that relies less on actual capping and more on how you game the system.

Anyway wouldn't even be in this tournament thing if it wasn't for you and your numbers everyday. I'm too lazy and inept to run that many number and get them in on time. That takes a lot of work and I appreciate all the capping. I know I'm not winning but finishing in the top like 300 would be really cool just from a confidence standpoint. Still a long way to go tho, and I'm getting cut open in a month or so and I too high on morphine to function for at least a couple days, haha. I'll try to get lil bro to put the picks in for me but top 300 by this time next month would be a win in my book.

I second all of this. Good luck with the surgery Blunt.

Still 10 mins to go, but I'm very likely to W/P the #6 here in race 5 at Parx. The #1,#6,and #8 are all basically tied for 1st on my rankings (#6 slightly ahead), but the #1 is also a suspicious class dropper that I'm always trying to beat when they go off as short as this one will be. I'll try a small #6,#8 exacta box as well just for the hell of it.

No good. The #1 beat me.

btw @t6p I also get tvg and that's where I watch most of the races as well. The anchors all bore the hell outta me tho, so I usually just mute it till the race starts, lol.

What's with these shitty loser comments guys? Come on now. That type of talk guarantees you won't win. Actually you won't win, I agree with you guys there. But that's only because I'm winning it. You guys still have as good a chance as any to finish 2nd, though.

Haha, yea they are pretty awful.

I may be the only one in the world looking forward to it, but Mahoning Valley should be starting up their racing meet again in a few weeks.

Alright I didn't mean 300 I mean top 3 and I'll finish right ahead of you and T.
