The Ponies Thread (part 2)

The WP+FCS number is plenty for me bud. But honestly Shark, don't feel obligated to run the numbers at all unless you want to. You provide so much in here already.

I'm going to be doing the numbers anyways, T, so forget about that "obligated" part of it. I'll be doing them for myself and am more than happy to share with you guys. I was just wondering if you guys were using the pace line figures at all to help you or if you were just defaulting to a high total score, that's all.

Meh. I took him to W/P at 5/2 in the end and he only managed 2nd after getting involved in an early speed duel. The place payout might be okay since it was the #4 horse who ran him down and that one was 13/1.

Yay, I made a whole 25 cents in profit that race.

Disappointed I won't be able to play along today. My book once again doesn't have this track listed, they only have Woodbine :(. Either way GL Sharkey.

As for the figures it's whatever you would like. As T said, it's a privilege just to get any numbers on these races let alone all the extra stuff.

Race 6 - Probably the #2 over #1,#4 in exactas

I'm going #2 over #1,#4,#6 in exactas and tris for this race instead of the above since I've been noticing an early trend so far with these pace lines, and that's with the horses that have the even pace figures stand a good chance to hit the board even if they're not the strongest win contenders. The #6 horse has that even pace line and will be a longshot.

Sorry about that, Blunt. I tried to look at the other tracks today, but they all had rain being forcasted. This track was the only one that didn't. It was far from being my preference. I just didn't want to do the numbers for those other tracks and it possibly being a waste of time with there being the potential for off tracks.

No biggie my friend, like I said you post more than enough stuff for us here. It's not your fault my racebook sucks, haha. I have to re up on my other book that I was previously using to bet the races with before, they might have the more tracks.

The #4 lost the photo for 2nd because of course he did. In real time I thought I had it, but I should know better by now.

I'll try to do better next time with my track selection even if today was limited. The only reason to post these races is for those occasions when one of you guys feels like playing along.

I've been close in every race so far today and with very little to show for it. The #5 ran a good 3rd as a longshot in race 2. The #1 finished 2nd in race 3 by a half a length to the winner, and had to settle for place payout. Just missed both the exacta (by a whisker) and the tri (less than a length) in that last race.

Oh well. I've just been playing these races really small anyways since I don't know this track, so no great loss being down just $21 so far.

Race 8 - Likely the #8 to W/P and then possibly a #2,#4,#8 exacta box

The #8 opened at 9/2, so I may have to call an audible this race and just play the best value between the #2, #4, and #8 along with the exacta box.

Already in with the #2,#4,#8 with the #1,#9 in the late double for races 8 and 9.

I so want to beat this favourite in the #5 even if just playing these small. It hasn't raced since last Dec, and was getting beat by a combined 52 lengths in it's two race before that.

And predictably finishes last by about 100 lengths as the 2/1 favourite.

I missed my W/P on the #8 (finished 5th of 10 at 45/1) and the exacta, but the #4 won so my double is still alive.

Race 9 - I'll just take the better value between the #1 and #9 (the #4 is tempting at 20/1, but he conflicts with too many based on his pace lines)

Based on the will pays I think I get good enough odds on both of these to try a double win bet. The #1 especially is going to be a big longshot. I'll go $5 on the #9 with just $2 on the #1.

What a clown show the horses in this race are. Pretty much every one has been acting up in the gate and now there's a delay. The #1 horse threw his rider and may have injured him.

...and now scratched, which means I get a measely $6.30 payout because of it as a consolation payout. Left to rely on the #9 for the double and win bet.

Yeah, I can't see myself betting this track again regardless of what happens in this last one.

Have to settle for a place payout after the jockey on the #9 got caught napping after being in control of the race around the turn.
