I got another old camera!

The woman who I bought my Kodak Vollenda from had another camera. Both were her father's, and because she seen how well I care for the Vollenda and enjoy it, she decided to gift me the other camera for Christmas. She said she wanted it in good hands. I haven't had a chance yet to do some proper research on it, so far I just know it's from 1956 and considered one of Russia's best cameras.

Oh right, lol, it's a Zorki 4, with a Jupitar 8 lens.
Both the camera and case are in excellent condition.

Okay, looking now I see there were a few versions of this camera released, and the one I have is the fourth model, which ran from 1968-1969.

The main thing to remember with those cameras is only set the shutter speed AFTER then shutter has been cocked.

Top get in the Christmas spirit some Jovian weather this evening.

Nothing is showing up.
I re-uploaded the concert pics, would be cool if you gave them a look.

I also purchased 2 new lens for my Nikon.
Sigma AF 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art and Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 SP Di VC USD G2
I wanted a fast general use/portrait lens with AF (because I only had a manual one before and sometimes manual focus is a pain in the ass). And I needed an ultrawide for landscape and architecture. Build quality of both is excellent, but I havent really tried them yet except for couple of lazy shots of my cat with the Sigma.

Great shots of the concert.

The Sigma Art lenses are awesome. Not sure about the Tamron, but Tamron has been making good lenses recently.

Thanks!
Well, Tamron has 5 year warranty, is weather and dust proof, and beats Nikkor 14-24 almost everywhere in direct comparison, especially in sharpness on the edges. I will be putting it to the test these new year's holidays and will provide some results here.
In general it is a very good thing more and more manufacturers are providing quality optics.

That's good. I just got a Nikon F mount to Sony E mount adapter so I can use my Nikon D750 glass on my a7iii to try and save some money. Unfortunately, my zoom doesn't seem to work, but my all around 24 - 120 mm does. It doesn't focus so fast though. Should be ok. I really like that lens, so it will be nice if it works ok on the Sony. To get new Sony lenses is expensive, this is a decent solution in the meantime. I'll probably test it out a bit today and post the results later here.

I looked at these on my phone at first and liked them, but just looked at them on my computer and they are even better. These are great man. I'll have to look into that lens too. Love the look of these.

Thanks again, I appreciate it.
The lens- it is cheap, manual focus only, diaphragm can be manual via the ring or camera-operated. I would say it has a special tone, colors seem a bit turned down, but I like the bokeh and it is not too sharp to make portraits look uncomfortable. Overall I'd say Samyang made a good lens for its money, it costs around $300 here. And there is one for Sony E mount.
