The Photography thread!

I was browsing the website I order my film from, and came upon this purple faux infrared film. Think I might have to test this one out next!

I'm coming upon winter here (well, there's already snow), so I'll be taking lots of snowy landscape photos. This could turn out nicely I think. I'll have to think of some photos and places that would look nice on this film.

Agh! Such gorgeous photos guys!

@moreorless87 I love the doggo picture. What a wonderful and original opportunity for a photo! And they look so happy. The trees and clouds photo would make for an awesome piece to hang up. Do you have a lot of interested people in your work?.

I sell from a few local places, the main one being a stall in a market at weekends to keep costs down so the prints can be affordable(18x12 inches £25, 24x16 inches £50, etc for mounted prints), generally a lot of browsers but sales are very unpredictable, could be £300 in a few hours, could be nothing.

The dog shot is actually a a few years old now(although he's still alive and healthy but a little whiter), came across it when looking though some old shots as it was one I rejected for printing greetings cards from in favour of a slightly different expression.

Film wise I was clearing out an old cupboard today and came across a roll of unused film that expired 20 years ago, not sure I'm going to test the results. ;)

My department had a dark room and they had like 100 rolls of expired film left over. No one wanted it, so I kept it.

Interesting. I like messing around with IR.

This is probably my favorite photo of mine just because it was such a bitch to take. I had to set up like 3 different light sources to get the lighting correct. Then I put the camera on interval mode on a tripod and continuously dropped this strawberry every few seconds about 200 to 300 times. Then, I had to sort through all the photos for the best shot. This was it:

A wider shot of the same Weirhound tree today.

Really like the last shot well done, the expression and features really show just how “dog like” bears can be.

When people ask me what bears are like I always say they are just like dogs, super smart and they all have their own personality's and quirks.

So, how far away are you typically?

Pretty close usually a lot closer than most people think. Its not uncommon to be 20ft or closer to them.

Some gifs from my cell phone.

That's cool but also kind of crazy. I'm sure you know everything about them, but they can run fast. What happens if one just decides to charge at you?

Just stand your ground is the most important thing but its pretty rare to get charged especially if the bears know you. They are pretty smart animals and will treat you well if you dont fuck with them and let them be comfortable.

Yeah, that's probably true and true 99% of the time. But, one could be having a bad day one day... seriously.

Maybe but I have spent years of my life around them and had have really no problems at all, I have had worse encounters with Elk and Moose. I have been told by dumb redneck bear haters that I am retarded and taking my life in my hands, sure I could run into the wrong bear in the wrong place one day and get mauled or killed but you could get killed driving down the street as well.

The most risk I take it getting close(below shot with a 20mm) to cows, luckly their thick as shit and cowardly.
