The most violent championship taking in UFC history

If I’m not mistaken, I think Andy did it to him twice. I thought he shattered his face the second time too.

That nose was never the same. Franklin’s facial expression in the first few exchanges is pretty insane. You can tell he is in disbelief at the strength and violence Silva is bringing.

And that was after he humiliated Chris Leban in his first UFC fight to get there. Man, Andy was something else.

I'll mention:
Jon Jones vs Mauricio Rua.
Shogun got crushed to bits. He got elbowed, kneed and punched into submission. This might be the best one.

Cain Velasquez vs Brock Lesnar

Short but decisieve beatown of the biggest star in the sport at that time.

Nunes vs Cyborg
Nunes ended Cyborgs 10 year undefeated streak and beat her in the way Cyborg demolishes her opponents. SHe lured her in with heavy leg kicks and countered. Cyborg kept walking and swinging like crazy before getting dropped face down ass up.

Glover vs Jan is a much better example than Nunes cyborg, and it just happened not even 2 months ago
That fight was just a brawl Nunes won. No dominantion
Jones shogun was a complete one sided destruction though.. I was a shogun fan and it was a hard one to watch live

Gaethje over Ferguson for the Interim?

Jones vs Shogun had more in common with a mountain lion attack than it did a sanctioned MMA fight.

Gaethje over Ferguson for the Interim?
This is an underrated one
Fergunson took nothing but punishment from round 3 and onwards, dude was a corpse on his feet by the end

I love those "He is still breathing, keep going" type of stoppages.

Here's another one..

Rogan: "That's it, it's over!"

... 25 unanswered Shane Carwin donkey Kong power smashes to the brain later.

Rogan: "He's stopping it. Frank's unconscious."

Jones almost killed Shogun Rua. That was a horrible beating

It's my favorite fight of all time. I loved every minute and I just rewatched it over my holiday vacation. My buddy had been telling me I was wrong about Jones being the next champ for like a year and mentioning how rua was gonna break his chicken legs. As I'm sure you know there is nothing like that feeling of being right and knowing it

There's been a ton of bad whuppins but I think Jones Rua and silva Franklin are the 2 best examples

the beating he put on Rua was career changing. He basically ended Shogun Rua. No one came close to doing that to him before.
