Nobody “forced” you to get a vaccine. And wdym about vaccines not working as intended. They have always meant to work as a seat belt to improve immunity, they can’t 100% prevent you from getting sick but if you do get sick, it won’t be as severe if you didn’t get the vaccine.

I'd argue that Nixons pardon was not nearly as extensive as the various ones Biden issued. 2 years versus 11 years.

Extensiveness in terms of time is uninteresting compared to extensiveness in damage to democracy. Nixon being pardoned was obviously one of the most damaging things to democracy in modern history, and has arguably led to this precise moment.

Trump was never held to the same standard as traditional presidents though. Even early on, his appeal to the base was rooted in "he's too real, too raw, and people can't handle someone that isn't part of the system", so he already started operating under a different system of standards entirely. The rest of course is history. He never actually had to be held to regular standards in order to win.

I don't think it makes sense to let what others communicate about what their intent is to decide one's standards. I set my own standards: I don't care that Trump communicates that he's going to do destructive things, or that Biden wants to be held to a higher standard. Everything that falls below my standards is something I will hold against them on a set scale.
